3 Lbs., 3 airings, 3 strikes

3 Lbs.

tucci.jpgLet’s see. It was a medical drama with a dose of twisted humour. It featured a prestigious cast headed by an expensive movie star. It had a catchy title (named for the weight of an average human brain) and lots of promotion.

You got it. CBS has pulled 3 Lbs. after three airings.

“Without a brain, what are we?” asked Stanley Tucci, in his role as legendary, and legendarily de-ethnicized, neurosurgeon “Dr. Douglas Hanson.”

Uh, a network programmer?
3 Lbs. debuted with a modest 2.9 rating among the 19-49 year-old crowd (see MYL for a primer on the ratings). Its most recent airing only got a 2.4. Reruns will fill the time slot for now, and the five unaired episodes will probably show up online at CBS Innertube website, where you can see the three episodes that’ve aired already.

Well, at least we can look forward to one more weights-measures-and-body-parts-titled series: Fx’s 7 oz., named for the average weight of a male organ that’s often mistaken for the brain.

Since I am a House fan, I took a peek at this piece of crap. That’s five minutes of my life I will never get back. I am surprised it made it through a whole episode before it was pulled.

Something irks me about that Mark Fuerstein guy. I hated “Good Morning Miami”, just as much as this pile.

I turned down a job on this show cuz i figured it would get cancelled almost immediately.
