Mini caps of True Blood The Gates and Design Star
True Blood: WaffleBoy
Whoo hoo! Sunday has come again, and we just got another chance to see what everybody on True Blood is up to, and people are busy, busy, busy.
Such as Bill, who is still fairly dark and badass for most of the episode. Sadly, by the end of the show he is back to being the vampire who gets sand kicked in his face all the time.
The good news for Tara is that she has finally found a man willing to commit. Okay, that’s never been a problem for Tara, but she has hooked up with a complete whack job who ties her up all day long. Oh, and he wants to turn her into a vampire, so she is breaking all sorts of new ground relationshipwise.
Eric shows up in Jackson looking for Bill, and gets flirty with the long time male companion. He also has a viking FLASHBACK, which leads to a very unfortunate haircut. Bu the way the correct response to that last part would be yay!
Sam’s family is a complete mess. By the way I’ve set up a macro to type that sentence for the rest of the season. That’s right, I’m using macros. Waffleboy leaps into the 80′s.
We get to see that Jason is on the cutting edge of law enforcement, with his trail breaking work in topless traffic stops.
Oh and Sookie spends most of the episode looking for Bill, even though just about everyone else on the show knows where he’s at. I’m sure this means something, but who cares? Unfortunate haircuts, yay!
A pretty fun episode, if you haven’t watched it yet, you should.
The Gates: Alejandra
Wow, so things actually happened this episode – in a very happeny way, not in a slow build for suspense kind of way. Andy and Charlie make out a lot, and this causes Charlie to faint in English class – you know, because Andy harbors the kiss of death and all. Peg tells everyone he has mono and secretly orders Andy’s dad to tell her what she is so she doesn’t go around felling other innocent high school boys. Which he does.
Claire continues to see Christian, that is until he almost eats the town gossip. Claire steps in, but now everyone in the Gates will know about her secret dates, and she’s not happy about it.
But she had a better night than her husband, who is forced to attend a Daddy-Daughter dance with Nick. The two share some awkward bonding over having daughters, and it’s actually kind of a cute little bromance they have going on. That is until Theresa reveals her true nature as the sister of the dude Nick killed in Chicago, tries to kill Nick, but is then iced by Dylan, vampire style! The secrets, they are OUT!
Oh, and Brett kills a hunter when he’s out running, and sort of gets in trouble for it.
Design Star: SwellMel
In last night’s episode, the 8 remaining Design Stars head to the New York Fire Department Training Facility and are greeted by Genevieve. Tiegs and Vern are MIA.
Genevieve tells the designers that FDNY Chief Ciarvino is going to help judge this week’s challenge “yayyyyy” flailing Kermit arms. Oh yeah, and I guess Genevieve could psychically hear me bitching about mixing up the teams because this week she did!
Blue team is Michael, Emily the Strange, Casey and Alex. Red team is Courtland, Nina Gargamelda, Stacey, Courtland and Tom.
This week’s challenge is to design a common space for real firefighters in real New York City firehouses. In case you’re still confused, this isn’t a real firefighter:

Kirk Cameron in….”FIREPROOF.”
Chief Ciarvino tells the designers the space needs to be relaxing for when the firefighters are in between calls.
Here comes the twist! Genevieve says each designer is to incorporate one signature element into the team design. It can be anything as long as it expresses each designer’s voice.
If you like it, spread it!:
