On Friday afternoon, I took a transcontinental flight on American Airlines, and since the onboard entertainment was not nearly as abundant as, say, Jetblue, I had to find unorthodox ways to pass the time. Sure enough, as I was leafing through Watch!, the CBS propaganda mag conveniently stuffed into the seatback pocket in front of me, I came across a stunning photo essay of Amazing Race host Phil Keoghan and his wife, Louise. CBS had sent the two to Shanghai for a week of wanton bacchanalia and anonymous sex and documented the journey (minus the bacchanalia and sex) in a series of stirring images.
Well, I couldn’t just let these photos go unnoticed. I surreptitiously pocketed the magazine (apologies to whomever was in desperate need of knowing which songs were on the Miles Davis: The Music and the Man channel) and scanned in the photos as soon as I could. Enjoy.

I think that B-Side stole the magazine knowing full well that there’s really no down side to it. If he successfully steals the mag, then TVgasmers get to see ShanghaiPhil and his PhilBride. If he isn’t successful, then he gets to enjoy being frisked by a sweaty, 350 pound airline security guard with a bad case of FUPA looking for additional contraband and/or harmless liquids.
i think the ‘tasty beverage’ is one of those fizzy alka-selzer-style immunity boosters like ‘airborne’ (notice the white plastic container next to the cup). just another tip on how to stay dashingly healthy while globe-trotting, phil-style.

This pretty much sums up why I love TVgasm so…
a) The fact that this obscure article was brought out into the blinding light of day for all of us to enjoy.
b) The fact that the giant thumb in the pocket (which is the pinnacle of weird) was noted is just supreme.
TVgasm rocks.
I’ve said it before – I just LOVE when B-Side travels. It’s a guaranteed laughapalooze every time he boards a plane.
