American Idol Recap: The Top Snorety

Next up is Shubha Vedula. Really? She make American Idol mistake number one by choosing a song that was originally sung by one of the judges. It is a Mariah song. Shubha actual hits the high note. It is the only thing she has done to impress me. Mariah thanks her for choosing one of HER song. Another youngster, Julianna Chahayed, takes her chance at this mike. She sings “Landslide” by Fleetwood Mac. It’s a great song, so I hope she doesn’t ruin it. I like her too, and so do the judges. We get a short clip of Zonanette and the next contestant, Kez Ban, at the mall. Oh my, are the producers sure that this isn’t a man? Kez is also singing an original song, and playing an instrument. How did she make past the first auditions? After some deliberations, Nicki tells her that journey ends here. Clearly, it is their best decision they have made all night.

Bez…

…never say never, that’s all I’m sayin’.

Nicki M. says that the girls are blowing them away. Why is she doing most of the talking? Ashlee Feliciano tried out during the New York auditions. She tells us that she is sick, then begins to sing “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri. She’s just okay, in my opinion. Randy states his concern that all of the ladies are choosing music that is too serious. He needs more silly, less feely. That doesn’t immediately happen because the next few girls have some dumb sob story. Melinda Ademi finally picks up the pace. I predict that she makes it through to the next round. Keith says that she will probably make it as well. Next, we get some back story on singer, Cree Harrison. She specifically chose “Stars” by Grace Potter because it reminds her of her deceased mother. Her father also died when she was twelve. It’s very sad, but I think the producers will keep her around because she has an interesting story and people will tune in to support her, and we all know the show needs some ratings. Keith gets chills. Mariah looks like she might cry. Everyone loves her. All of the girls that we just heard from, plus a few more, are brought out. Melinda and Cree make it through. Another girl, Serena Joy Crow, does not make it, and she acts like someone just murdered her puppy. Get over it. You are young. Try out again next year.

“You’re stupid and so is your name.”

Ryan calls up the remaining twenty four contestants. Randy calls out 3 names, and they are dismissed. It is none of the girls that we have seen tonight. Then, he says there are a few girls that the judges would like to hear sing one more time. First up is Stephanie. She sings “Home” by Philip Philips. I am not impressed. I can’t really tell if the judges are either. Randy calls up Rachel Hale. She may be effervescent, but she is not cut out to make it past this round. I even think she is the worst one we have seen during this episode. Randy asks Stephanie to step forward, and tells her buh-bye. He congratulates the rest of the ladies on making it to the top twenty. I now wish I would’ve watched the previous episodes, but I am also happy that I haven’t been sucked into watching the remainder of the season.

I am here for your amusement.

kez Ben does seem transgendered, especially the voice. On the original audition, Kez sang an original song that was fantastic, I really liked it, and I believe they kept putting her through because of it. She obviously gave up the fight, and self destructed before they cut her themselves. It’s a shame, as she was definitely different in a crazy, crazy kind of way.

And I have to agree on the sing off, My lawd, do they have ears or not!!! That second girl was all over the place pitch wise, at least the blondie could sing in tune. I honestly can’t believe they kept Zonette . . . really!?

Thanks for takin’ one for the team Plockness!
