Fallen Idol

American Idol

constantine_cackleIn case you haven’t heard by now, American Idol reject and chronic pouter Constantine Maroulis became the talk of the internet yet again when last week during a live interview he fell on his ass. Of course, hearing this mortifying news brought nothing but sheer delight to my heart, but sadly, my computer lacked the necessary capabilities to actually view this divine moment of slapstick (which had been located solely at the website for Oklahoma’s Fox 23). Thankfully, iFilm has now added the clip to its ranks which means that even I could finally view this magnificence (and yes, it was worth the wait). I personally enjoy the pre-fall moments of the clip as Constantine tries to act so cool and like such a badass that he doesn’t even bother looking at the reporter. Connie, you were in Rent, you appeared on Elimidate, and you sang Bonnie Raitt and Queen on American Idol. Unless you can pick up a heroin habit in the next week or so, we’re never going to believe that you’re really that tough.

Then again, while his posturing is great, it really doesn’t compare to his precipitous tumbling on live television. Constantine has always looked dumb when he’s performed his pseudo-rocker kick, but seeing him actually fall on his ass made all those weeks of wannabe-rockin’ worth it. Sort of. Okay, I still wish he hadn’t intersected with pop culture, but hey, now he’ll at least feel like the idiot he’s always appeared to be.

Other than getting a huge kick out of him falling on his butt, I especially like the upshot of his butt-chin. Thanks, B-Side!

I like how he tried to blame the Fox anchor.

    “You guys sabotaged me!”

After repeated viewings of this hilarious footage, I have to say that my favorite moment is when after he falls, he sticks his tongue out. Then he pulls the anchor down on the floor with him as if to say “hey guys, I MEANT to do that”. Ha ha ha ha ha ha.

he said he’s looking at scripts and getting back into acting.

I was hoping this ass fall would be the last we saw over constipation. WHy?

Watching that live on HDTV then rewinding and enjoying it many, oh so very many more times on TiVo almost made moving to Tulsa worth it (I said almost).

    HAHAHA, AW-SUM

    he looks loaded.

what i found highly amusing is the wooden platform that lady has to stand on to interview taller (than her) people!

The Idols AND Ryan Seacrest were all at the Coca-Cola 600 this past week. The Idols to sing the national anthem and Seacrest to be the Grand Marshal. You think this is funny, you should read what they say about the Idols on the Nascar website. Nascar fans are not appreciative of the Idols’ *talents*. At one commercial break, all the Idols were standing in front of the camera to tell the audience to stay tuned, and there was Constantine, front and center, making faces into the camera and doing some head shaking thing I don’t understand. But then I don’t understand a lot about Constantine, and I really like him at first.

Victoria- I must admit I liked Constantine at first too. But he is like one of those guys who seems cool and cute at first but once you get to know him its a completely different story. That guy is a moron and I hate that he is famous.

I have good news and bad news.

The good is that Bo’s single is outselling Carrie’s in presales.

The bad is that the dreaded *heaven* song is on it. Ugh.
