Despite all the lip-service given to “healthy role models” and “average-size girls,” our chunky celebrities willingly submit to the airbrush and photoshop trickery when it comes to promoting their product. As we see above, in the case of original American Idol Kelly Clarkson and her photo spread (center) in the new issue of Elle magazine.

Kelly, whose lower body is so disproportionately large that she appeared to be wearing those inflatable heart-attack pants when she came out to sing “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” in the recent season’s finale, has been slimmed down to Avril Lavigne proportions.So what is the message here? Commenters, it’s in your court.
