   A google search of “Mario Vazquez” “gay” and “porn” brought up this interesting snip…though when I tried to pull up the link, there was nothing there but an ad…

   Some Mario info for ya – he sang background vocals on a song for Michael Jackson’s Invincible album (yes, I bought it). The song is called “Whatever Happens,” which he cleverly sang for his first audition to get to Hollywood (best song on the album too).
   Is MJ out to ruin anyone who’s ever come into contact with him? Makes you wonder…
   So sad, Fez Jr was one of my faves (and definitely the best looking guy this year, or any year for that matter).

   Undoubtedly he dropped out to make some cold, hard cash.

   Once AI contestants become finalists, they are locked into the contract with 19 Management and J Records. My bet: another management company or offered Mario a deal. I’d take it, wouldn’t you? It’s shrewder to be assured of a deal today than wait 12 weeks for possibly something.

   Probably, the recording contract will “materialize” weeks down the road, and the story will be that Geffen or MCA took pity on him, yada yada. That’s why he’s all over the television smiling–all the way to the bank.

   Also, the success of the 19 team and J Records with their AI proteges has been lukewarm. Clay Faken–Aiken, sorry–stands out, and that was a marketing coup. Kelly, Ruben, Justin et al have seen limited success. Fantasia’s CD just recently dropped, although she was on the show some time ago. These are insta-celebs; you have to grab them while they are hot.

   It’s unlikely that Mario’s quitting had anything to do with his life or lifestyle. He knew from the beginning that his he was being thrust into the limelight. It’s not like anyone cares; obviously, the show and the recording industry don’t have a probelm with flames.

   The gay angle is probably not an issue. Mario is a straight as Justin or Clay.

   But FYI, do we want to see Mario in any porn? Geez, it’s like barely legal, no thank you.

   Speaking of Alicia Keys… Does anyone else think she might be a lesbian? I read a blind item somewhere that definitely sounded like they meant her…

   Maybe she and Mario can come out together, when she’s playing another one of the Ray Charles tributes? He could sing back up…

   He was just on Live with Regis and Kelly,
   and was trying to play coy about the whole ‘exit the show for personal reasons’crap. Although I really enjoy his voice and performance, his interviewing skills are weak. He ‘swore’ we hadn’t seen the last of him and he would go on performing. Rods’ right on the money- he got a better offer.

    I’m going with what Rod said. I think he got a better offer at a real recording studio & went with that.

    I hear that AI is now rewriting their contracts for the contestents to sign because of this.

    One thing for sure is he’s gettign more publicity than any of the other contestants – being lead stories on all the national morning shows and cable networks, even appearing on Letterman and Regis & Kelly – and on the day that the TOP 12 was announced, no one is talking about them – they;re all talkig about Mario. As for the person writing about gay porn, I can tell you if he did gay porn he wouldnt have used his real name. Others like Simon Rex have done gay porn and still managed to live t hrough it. We all have skeletons in our past. As for non Idol winners – aside from Clay – the others havent had much success – and theres no guarantee Clay will have long term success- Lets see a second album. Ruben sucks – Kelly is the only one doing well and considered a legitimate artist with a great voice. Fantasia is a Macy Gray wannabe and Moms dont want their girls listening to songs extolling the virtues of teenage mother hood. Tamyra Gray was one of the best singers and her album floopped…Many of the others who have done albums have only had moderate success – RJ, Kimberly – and others are all promising great things but most of them will not be lasting recording artists. What we see from AI is there are a lot of great singers but it takes a lot more to become a star and a lasting star- and unfortunately many of todays pop stars a la Britney Spears or Ashley Simpson cant sing at all so its pretty discourating for people with real talent. Josh Gracin has done alright in the country genre but hes still playing small venues. Latoya London and all the others from last year are working on albums. Diana Degarmos album tanked really really bad and shes fallen off the face of the earth. Kimberly Caldwell at least is doing TV GUide channel to keep her face in the media and is working on an album with Randy and Diane Warren so maybe theyll push her – Hpefully all of these alumni are begging Fox to let them perform on IDOL so that they can get millions of eyeballs to give them another chance and buy their albums.

    As one commentator said (and Ibelieve Ms Abdul too) is that he better think this through and not alienate his fans. He has a lot of fans right now that like him & are pulling for him – and if he’s playing games with them or lying they are going to turn on him. You have to respect your fans – after all, theymake you who you are.

    Seriously has anyone followed the careers of these lost idols? How does Kade know so much?
    I think it’s amazing what a phenomenon AI is, but it can’t last much longer can it? This year everyone is so established. I mean they said Anwar sang for the president, the Rocker boys have bands, Mario sang back-up for Wacko Jacko? I mean seriously, this show is not about fresh talent. I laughed a little last night when Simon told Bo he looked like he had been doing this for 20 years. I mean the kid is almost 30, he’s probably been doing it pretty close to 30 years. I’m over it.
