Super Excellent Karaoke Fun Time!

One of my friends, who I call the coolest person in the world, was talking about how much they loved American Idol. After the New Year, the beginning of January meant a little bit of a let down for a lot of us as we had nothing to look forward to except three more months of winter, which is one of the reasons I moved out to Los Angeles, where January means it’s almost pilot season, and as our friends at Defamer like to say, “Anybody can get a job during pilot season.” In case you can’t move to a warmer clime or haven’t yet had a chance to become a washed up actor or comic and receive a pilot script, American Idol is just the thing you need. Whether you like seeing people with big dreams make it to Hollywood, or see those dreams crushed mercilessly under the weight of their obvious lack of talent, there is no longer reason to be depressed in the winter.

This year, Konami, makers of Karaoke Revolution are giving us denizens of the internets a chance to send one person to a private audition with Paula, Randy, and Simon. Find out more after the jump.A few months back, Konami invited people to try out in malls using their game, Karaoke Revolution, before judges and the unfortunate people in the food court that were forced to listen while waiting in line at Cinnabon. Finalists were chosen in ten different regions, and their performances have been placed on the Karaoke Revolution Presents American Idol website. The rest is now up to us, as we get to vote for our favorite finalists, who will not only win a private audition for next season’s American Idol, but an all expense paid in trip to Los Angeles to view a taping of this year’s show. For those of you who aren’t interested in voting, Konami was kind enough to allow you to watch the videos without having to register, but if you like one of the performances, you will have to sign up with a real e-mail address to vote.
