ANTM Minicap: I Can’t Believe it. Shocker!!!!

By Luscious | | 5:58 pm | 26 Comments

Wow, Gasmii – So many things happened this week that I just can’t believe.

For starters, I couldn’t believe who was sent home. We won’t spoil it for the readers who haven’t seen the show yet, but

OMG, I nearly fell off my seat when it happened.

I also can’t believe who Laura picked to join her in the Tyra Suite.

Then there’s Kelly Cutrone.

Suddenly I’m liking her and she’s making more sense than anyone.

Apparently Tyra’s long list of people she has dirt on includes Alicia Keys ,and I couldn’t believe she pimps out her models and forces them to be their own stylists for charity.

Man have we gotten low budget or what?

Plus, word on the street is pink eyebrows are now in fashion.

Stay tuned for all the details coming soon.

Also, she'd like to create a pair of pajamas for her niece where the sleeves actually work.

Shoot, I keep posting and it keeps vanishing, if this is a repeat I apologize.

Oh and FYI – recappers are not paid, they volunteer their time and talent, so be nice.

So let me get this straight, this season they aren’t coaching the girls or guiding them on how to model or act of find their angles. But on top of that they are now expected to style themselves? So by next week will they be taking their own photos? Will we get a series of photos taken in bathroom mirrors with cell phones?

How does a show get so cheap this far into a franchise?

I was watching last night and I actually like the new format, the show moves along at a brisk pace. The out model looked shocked as hell, and I agree, why would Laura want that in her room?

Is it just me, or are the eliminated girls this cycle SUPER INCREDIBLY HYPER emotional upon being eliminated? Like, more than usual.

And this week’s elimination was BULLSHIT. There. I said it. Maybe that’s why they’re so emotional — because there are way too many factors into who goes home, that they know it’s bullshit as well.

(I don’t understand your beef, realhousewivesfan, but it may be the weird grammar and hasty spelling that’s causing that . . . This is just the minicap, so maybe let’s reserve judgment for the main recap, even though I, for one, know that it will be awesome as usual.)

Why is BryanBoy even allowed to talk? They gave Danielle so much crap her season about her pronounced southern accent, and she was completely understandable – He is NOT.

I can’t believe how low rent Tyra’s gone either, I wonder if she’s just counting on the inevitable bloodbath that’s bound to occur when Laura’s new pet piranha turns on her. Sucker!

I predict the eliminated girl coming back in a few weeks, and probably winning the competition.
It is a complete win-win situation for Tyra : shock elimination + come-back story.
And Brianboy needs to shut up. This guy has the same problem than Perez Hilton : bitch you are not a star, you’re just a blogger…

This show has gotten so bad it’s painful.

The “scores” are so arbitrary and ridiculous. How does one judge give a 4 and another a 9?

When the “uber” talented (ahem……) Bryanboy tells the girls to “step it up” for their social media scores what are they expected to do? Are onliners just judging their photos? Personally I can’t really judge someones personality by a little photo online…..maybe they have videos of the girls interacting with the photogs or something online?…I haven’t checked it out. I am sitting here watching Danielle’s season of ANTM and it is so much more entertaining than this “dreckitude!!” Good ole’ Jade and Gina and “wildtooth” Joanie! This was ANTM at its finest…lol…….got a little carried away with the quotation marks…

I agree with you Xouille………Tyra wants to make sure the girl voted back is good. a Cinderella story

@Xouille: BINGO! I thought the same damn thing. It’s soooo contrived I almost cried, screamed, and threw the remote at the TV simultaneously. She had better win or this whole thing is one giant ruse (which I think it is, actually – I watch the past cycles that are being repeated and realize how low this show has sunken – sad).

How do you go from last season (?) with all the amazing photo shoots & high fashion photographers to…..THIS? This is worst than the 1st season & Tyra threw that shit together with shoestrings & toothpaste. You know it’s low rent when you go from Cover Girl & Seventeen to fracking Nine West & what the hell is Nylon magazine!

How can we be expected to take this shit seriously with the likes of Rob who thinks he knows more about fashion than Cutrone because he..um…he..is (?) a model (he actually said that dumb shit), Bryanboy who has no purpose other than saying step it up & showing up at the shoots in skirts & asking how it ‘felt’, & whatever that photo shoot ‘director’ name is who’s advice is ‘more..like..fierce’? Did he actually not watch Mr Jay work & see how you direct a shoot while giving credible criticism & advice on how to actually improve? Also, instead of saying ‘move your arms’ while coaching the girls..Miss Jay would’ve hilariously mocked her awful walk and then SHOWN her how to work it. Tyra…did not!

This show is nothing without the Jays! Tyra isn’t entertaining enough to carry a show without them & her new ‘characters’ are a dud. The editing is so obvious that you’d have to be a moron not to know the girl who got cut was unfairly going home. Done with this show!

@Robin that made me lol, I thought the exact same thing.

Looks like Yvonne finally puts Bryanboy in his place. Too bad she’ll probably get in trouble for it.

Another thing—I think the girl who got sent home was suddenly “hyper-emotional” because she fully expected she would not be eliminated. You can tell by the way her mouth dropped when the other girl’s name was called. I have to agree with Bryanboy on this one, though; she was my favorite girl, too.

I gave up on this show after Allison Harvard, the most unique and memorable contestant of any season (OK…opinion and not fact, but bet a lot of people share my opinion) came in second, not once, but twice. Besides….I miss the Jays. If they wanted to improve the show, they ditched the wrong cast members. Do the math.

Yo, what in the entire fuck just happened.
Tyra keeps this up, she’s gonna end up with a real mediocre winner.
If she doesn’t at least get to come back, I quit.

Also, Laura is a bitch and she really is obsessed with herself.
If everyone says it independently of one another, it must be true boo.

I think Tyra/whomever suggested bringing in the social media aspect didn’t intend for the 2 Jays and Nigel to say hell no. Could you imagine working for years in the business only to be told some clown from the internet will have as much say as you do. Me thinks then Tyra had to scramble to fill in the void.

Kelly Cutrone?? Ugh! Her little tantrum about the models not “embarassing” her client was ridiculous, considering that the models were being SET UP to be embarassed by doing their own styling, etc. I said I wasn’t going to wacth anymore, but it’s like a train wreck…

This week’s elimination would NOT have happened, (at least so early) on previous seasons. And Victoria? Tell me how Jewish and Native American equals Christian homeschooled, cuz I just don’t get it.

CH that falls under continuity and reality shows don’t hire those folks. Thus why Victoria gets to be whatever it is she is claiming.

You can be Native American and Jewish and be Christian.
It’s a religion…there aren’t really any rules about who can be in it and who can’t.
There also aren’t any rules about who can be homeschooled and who can’t be. I’m pretty sure as long as you have a home and a teacher, you qualify.

Are you guys watching the “comeback” videos on the CW site? The previous girls who were kicked off were completely shocked to see the girl who was eliminated.

Chaos no said you can’t be what you want. But on a “real” show someone would say hmmm Native American, Jewish and Catholic. How did we get there? Sounds like you have an interesting back ground.

Question is Victoria’s mom Jewish? If so, why would she send her kid to an overly Catholic college?

@Hypnotoad: I have not. Do you recommend it?

I’m Jewish. Being Jewish can be a religion, it can also be a secular/cultural identity. If Victoria’s mother is Jewish, that makes her Jewish, according to Jewish law. But very few Jews are also Christians who talk about God the way her mama did. If Dad is Jewish then technically Victoria is not Jewish. Whatever, I’d like to know what she means when she identifies herself as Native and Jewish, otherwise it just sounds like a load of appropriation BS, being used to make her seem different/”exotic.”

@AmyOops — I actually do recommend it. They’re really short — only about 3-4 minutes long. And Bryanboy hosts it, BUT he’s not really in it all that much, thank god. It’s interesting because a.) The girls who were kicked off are in a separate holding room during panel and they only find out who got eliminated when the girl walks through the door and b.) you get to see a little bit of their photo shoots. Jessie’s are pretty good. Darian’s, not so much. And they were all shocked when the girl who was eliminated this week entered the room. They’re all on the CW.com.
