Yes! It’s the 51st Annual Grammy Awards tonight on CBS at 8pm. The 3+ hour show is full of music’s biggest & most talented stars, old & new. This year it’s being held at the Staples Center in LA. An unprecedented 24 musical performances will be showcased tonight. Check out who’s gonna be there after the jump!

The BIG event of the night is the appearance & performance of Radiohead. Not a group to play in such venues, Radiohead has teamed with the USC “Spirit of Troy” marching band to perform the single 15 Steps from their nominated album, In Rainbows.

Some of the other talent scheduled to perform are Adele, Sugarland, Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown, Kenny Chesney & Carrie Underwood. There will be tandem performances pairing the old with the new. Paul McCartney will sing with Foo Fighter’s lead singer, Dave Grohl. Stevie Wonder will be singing Superstition with the Jonas Brothers (eeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!). Wonder thinks these brothers are great instrumental musicians, but are rarely allowed to prove it.

Awesome!

Miley Cyrus will do a duet with Taylor Swift. This is sure to blend the country/pop culture together for the young generation.

U2 with Bono will also be performing, even thought they aren’t nominated in any category this year. They do, on the other hand, have a new album coming out in March.

Since when were the Grammy’s about promoting yet to be released music?

A tribute to The Four Tops has the surviving Tops, Duke Fakir, singing the groups hits with Smokey Robinson, Ne-Yo, & Jamie Foxx. I’m hoping they do the famous four Tops shuffle.

The big Award for the night is “Record of the Year”. These are the nominees.

Chasing Pavements Adele

Viva La Vida Coldplay

Bleeding Love Leona Lewis

Paper Planes M.I.A.

Please Read the Letter Robert Plant & Alison Krauss

(side note: M.I.A. is nine-months pregnant & may just surpise us all if she wins!)

I’ve always been a bit confused about the differences between “Record of the Year”, “Song of the Year” & “Album of the Year”. Is it “Record” is the writer, “Song” is the song itself & “Album” is the CD the song is on? Am I close?

No matter, it’s going to be a star-studded event with nominated performers, both young & the old, all under the same roof. This is truly the only medium where age doesn’t matter at ALL. Paul McCartney, James Taylor, Bruce Springsteen, Smokey Robinson are along side Ne-Yo, James Mraz, Kid Rock, John Mayer, Pink & Katy Perry.

Scenes of the old “RAT Pack” of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr, Joey Bishop & Peter Lawford will morph into the “RAP Pack”, consisting of Kanye West, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, & T.I.

………to THIS!

With rock bands like The Eagles, Metallica, Kings of Leon, Kid Rock & AC/DC, things are bound to get rowdy, but that’s the best part of the Grammy’s! You never know what’s going to happen.

For all your Red Carpet Grammy interviews & fashion shockers, tune in to Live From the Red Carpet: The 2009 Grammy Awards on E! starting at 6pm. Guiliana Rancic will be right in the midst of it all to interview those who are attending the event. I wonder where Ryan Seacrest is?

TV Guide Channel has Live at the Grammy Awards with Lisa & Joey which also starts at 6pm. If you can deal with Lisa Rinna’s lips, I’m sure Joey Fatone will have alot of connections down on the Red Carpet. I’m wondering if Justin Timberlake will diss him. Wouldn’t that be awesome!
