Big Blunder 5

Big Brother

I have just worn out the repeat button on my ReplayTV making sure I saw correctly. Someone needs to recalibrate the Chen-Bot.

In tonight’s HOH Competition there were 2 elimination rounds of Mini-Golf. Chen-Bot announced the rules as:

“The first person to sink a put, and whose ball goes all the way to the bottom of the tube, wins the round.”

In the second round Marvin sunk his put 1st, but Karen’s ball made it “all the way to the bottom of the tube” first. To this, I call SHINANIGANS as Chen-Bot called Marvin victorious as his ball was still spinning in a circle waiting to drop and Karen’s ball was falling down the tube. Upon replay after replay I never even saw Marvin’s ball enter the tube.

On a personal note, I was rooting for Marvin to get HOH, but not like this. Julie has made it ugly.Though it is not certain Karen would have won HOH, one thing is certain, MARVIN WOULD NOT HAVE. This affects the outcome of the game; it is something I am certain the producers noticed since I noticed it right away. I am curious if this TV show falls under the title of GAMESHOW or REALITY SHOW because there is cash prize involved. If it is Game Show, I believe there are legalities involved since the Charles Van Doren Quiz Show scandal of the 1950′s. I think it is not too late for Big Brother to correct their error and encourage them to do so.

Furthermore, I am beginning an email campaign to write into CBS and let them know they didn’t get anything by the viewers, we noticed their error and expect it to be corrected. As soon as I find it I will be posting the email address to send to.

Maybe, I’m overreacting. What do you think?

    I saw the Blunder too.
All the BB5 houseguest are discussing it on the live feeds. I’m sure CBS knows. Please don’t campaign! Jesus says not to. If you don’t believe me ask Adria!!!!! lol!
The cards fell exactly the way they were supposed to. MARVIN for HOH!!!!! I bet he’s gonna get that phone call too. America loves Marv. He’s on Fire !
and so will Adria be when Jesus finds out she’s been lying on him.~

I think they should have a re-do with Karen and Cowboy facing off. I would love to see crazy Karen in a position of power, she is working the under the radar angle too hard. She’d fall to pieces within hours.

Campaign away, where can I send an angry protest email?

The Chen-Bot malfunctioned! Personally, I’d like to see Karen win HOH just so I could watch her crumble under the pressure within a few hours.

Oh, and Chica Montez – Abusing the exclamation mark doesn’t make it funny. And neither does re-using the same mediocre joke twice in one post. Mmkay?

(Don’t mind me, reality TV scandals make me hostile.)

This is ridiculous.. I already made a feedback to CBS about this on their main site.. Even to the Marvin fans, one thing is, if he gets Karen on the block or whatever, do we really want the stigma of, well, she wouldn’t be there if the rules were fair.. just have the 3, Karen, Cowboy and Marvin go at it again for 60 seconds… fair enough to me it seems

This isn’t the first time, either. Julie has inaccurately judged many comps. But this is the first time is has been a critical error. Why have “rules” when Chen-Bot isn’t waiting for official verification from the non-existant judges?

We may never get to see Karen faux-bawl over the enormous pressure of having to actually win something. And that would have been good tv.

I wonder if there was a rule where the ball could not hit the back of the putting green before going in the hole. Didn’t Karens hit the back and then bounce in the hole?

I think the idea of Cowboy, Marvin, and Karen all putting for 60 seconds is the best route. Although Marvin should have been eliminated, so I wonder if they’ll just let Cowboy and Karen put without him.

Chica, it seems you just used the forum to attack me. Isn’t that a tad hypocritcal? If you were semi-literate, you would realize that, as with this post, I did share my thoughts on the issue, not just say something mean about you. I’m not going to post anymore petty fighting, because as you said, the forums are for discussing BB5, not grammar skills or lack thereof.

Yeah, the Chen-bot failed to send someone off when they missed an HOH question the other week too. BB needs to hire more programmers for beta testing.

If any two people in the house deserved to be HOH it would be Karen and Cowboy because they have not had it yet. Should the two of them compete for HOH? Yes. Will they? Of course not and that is because CBS doesn’t want us to know they made a huge mistake. And by huge mistake I mean making Julie Chen the host of Big Brother.

I am so glad that its not just me, you are not overreacting this year is nuts. CBS had to many cards in there hand and got confused. I beleive that Drew should have never got HOH. He answered a question wrong. CBS forgot that there were 14 house guest and the question about how many entered the housewere married. They did not include Natalie, she is married and Julie asked Diane the question herself. How many people entered the big brother house? 14. I can’t remember the exact details but they had to go up the step or down the step. Also come on as soon as I seen the HOH comp that week they should have just handed the key to Diane. She carries a tray for a living. Well good luck with CBS. But I just stopped watching so I missed the the last HOH. but I’m with you on the email campaign!

As a game show it does fall under certain gaming regulations set by the FCC, but like always there is a catch. Much like Jeff Probst, Julie Chen has a certain amount of power; during competitions she acts sort of as a referee. If she calls something, it’s sort of like the decision is final, even if it’s not. So, for now, we can hang our heads low knowing that Julie Chen or (Chen-bot) is the Big Brother god. Heck, lets do away with a jury and just let Julie Chen crown whoever she wants to be the winner.

yeah, it sucks but i kind of think that karen deserves to lose the hoh crown for being so passive about the situation. the balls went into the cup at the same time and julie declared the winner. the houseguests had no idea of knowing whose ball touched the bottom first. karen just accepted that marvin won. if karen had been declared the winner, you can’t tell me that marvin would not have challenged the decision then and there! karen just hung her head, cleared her ball, and walked away.

I agree that Julie made a big mistake and has made others in the past. There should be more conrtol ton this then just her. This mistake is big because it will affect the out come of the game. I don’t believe Karen would want to be HOH, I don’t think she was really trying. If it would have come down to Karen and Cowboy he would have won.

I just rewatched my DVR recording of the show and Marvin did, indeed, win fair and square.

According to Julie’s rules, “the first houseguest to sink a putt and whose ball goes to the bottom of the tube wins HOH.” Your site is implying that meant the first to get both would be the winner. I don’t read into that sentence that way. I read that sentence as saying if the ball bounced back out of the hole you were not eligible to win.

If it was stated “the first houseguest to sink a putt and whose ball goes to the bottom of the tube FIRST wins HOH” I would have been more inclined to believe Marvin to be undeserving.

It’s all a matter of semantics, I guess. But I don’t see where anyone was cheated. Marvin’s ball clearly hit the hole first and it sank to the bottom.
