This week on Breaking Amish, the kids jump on a plane and arrive in New York City. 

The first to meet up are Sabrina, Rebecca, and Abe who all ride the same airplane.  Sabrina initially feels that she and Rebecca will be friends, because Rebecca is nice to her, but that all will soon change.  Rebecca is as terrified of airplanes as Yours Truly, so I can’t blame her at all. 

Abe and Rebecca are from the same church and they already have the hots for each other.  Abe and Rebecca have both heard numerous rumors regarding Kate, who is supposedly a really cute snob.  Turns out those rumors are correct as we see Kate quickly progress as the show villainess and takes Sabrina under her evil bitch wing. 

Jeremiah and Abe both have their hackles up upon meeting and all any of these kids can do is be nice to one another in person and then talk mad shit behind their backs.  They act like every person I’ve ever interacted with an hate, with the exception of Rebecca because she doesn’t seem to make it personal. 

I’ve already made my alliances with our time traveling kids – I’m officially team Rebecca & Abe.  The others are bullies.  Jeremiah thinks he’s too cool for everyone, while also believing he has a solid chance with both Sabrina and Kate, neither of whom want a thing to do with him. 

We also learn that Rebecca has false teeth and that this fact, apparently, warrants laughter and childish behavior on the part of The Bitches (Sabrina and Kate). 

From what I’ve assessed with my super-duper assessment skills, I believe that TLC is paying the kids’ way and providing an allowance for spending money on top of the money they brought with them.  I also have a feeling that Jeremiah has been out in the English world far more than he or the show are letting on.  He’s not at all impressed by anything he’s seen so far, so I think this isn’t his first time.  Perhaps he fared well at Rumspringa? 

I will have a full recap shortly so that you can enjoy my immediate hatred for Kate.  Way to ruin your natural good looks with a shitty personality, Kate.

    PERHAPS Jeremiah escaped once then came back and got down on his knees in front of the town and cried out to the heavens forgiveness!!! i cant believe the dude left a cute girl behind who would have married him and allowed herself to pop out babies faster then the duggers…how were these people selected??Abe and Rebecca better be careful and not get to close..dont think rebecca would be on the pill and doubt abe would want to put on a trojan…..on the other hand it could create a new tlc show…!

    Alice it shows Rebecca and Abe’s picture with baby on that site so they did get together. ;)

    Well, watch with a grain of salt. Not sure why one needs a tv show as you can drive to villages in the midwest where they live.

    To me it’s too early in the game to take sides. Let’s see how this plays out. They all bring something to the table. Next week it looks like some parents are hitting the big town. Should be interesting.

    Now let’s see if this gets posted as nothing I have written has been.

    Okay all of this is confusing me a bit. When did this film? Because if this filmed a while ago, then perhaps the pregnancy came after?

    I was trying to follow those websites but it’s a lot of cryptic information.

    I have no doubt its fake though.

    I watched this show for my first time last night and had several questions..
    1) Why do they speak like English and not Amish?
    2) Flying in a plane from PA to NYC..unless that was Ohio they left from?
    and last but not least..an Amish or Menn. driving a car and getting a DUI in Delray? My parents have a home in Jupiter , and I never heard of an Amish Community in that area??? ..perhaps in another part of Fl..but not the wealthy section…I did go to school in Delaware and saw some of them in the Wall Mart near Dover..but they spoke in an old English not like these kids…..so I do believe it is all a big fat lie!

    In the second episode, did they still dub in the sound of wind whistling forlornly over the tundra whenever the Amish exiles talk about how they now have no families?

    I’ve become a glutton for the reality crap that TLC has been producing lately, but I’m very disappointed in this show. Both episodes seemed pretty boring overall, and VERY scripted and fake (and it’s not like I’m assuming their other shows aren’t either). But after reading some of this controversy I feel like I might as well watch a play because these are just characters on a stage.

    On a side note, while I’m not a fan of Kate by any means, Rebecca was the one who irked me the most out of the girls. She seemed to hate Kate before ever meeting her. Also, why the meanness of making Kate take a cot? Why not share a bed, or at least take turns with the big beds? Seemed like some selfish middle school thought there. Also, I really hate Jeremiah. He seems like such the biggest cocky prick.

    this show is oviously the fakest tlc has yet to try to fool us with (obvious before you even read stuff going around the internet), yet i can’t stop myself from watching it. damn it!

    Before I realized that this show is scripted (call me naive) I was wondering how in the world these Amish kids picked up all this bad language…a lot of bleeps and slang like “skanks” being tossed around…

    It looks like my guess was right. And they never did get baptised into the Amish. But left whenever their romspringa came up. Or maybe before.

    So it’s just an Amish version of MBFGW. People aren’t going to sign up for a reality show. If they’re in a group where 1 of their main ways is keeping to themselves. Like Amish or regular Gypsies.

    So what the show does is find people that have a connection to the group. Or used to be in it. But got kicked out for mixing or something. Except with Amish it’s more like not ever getting in it in the 1st place.

    It’s confusing. Because so many Xtian sects have a ceremony where they baptise babies. Even if there’s another 1 later they’re liable to be still kids. But some of them have their own vocabulary word of anabaptist. That don’t believe anybody can join a sect till they’re grown. For the Amish their romspringa time’s supposed to be when they decide if they want to or not.
