donnyosmond.jpgDid you catch The Great American Dream Vote on ABC? The one with Donny Osmond as host and people begging to have their pathetic wishes fulfilled?

Neither did anyone else. The show’s been dumped after two airings, lost in the hoopla over Heather Mills’ Heather Mills’ wooden leg and Sanjaya Malakar’s hair.

Dream Vote preimered with a sneak preview Tuesday night after the Dancing with The Stars results show, then aired again in what was to be its regular slot on Wednesday. Dancing gave it a 4.7 lead-in among the 18-to-49 crowd, a rating that plunged promptly to a 1.9 (so low that one source calls it “disturbing”). The numbers were even more disturbing on Wednesday.

Next Wednesday, it’s back-to-back episodes of George Lopez.

And poor Donny Osmond?
He at least got a little publicity out of the gig. Donny threatened this week that he and his Osmond Brothers might be getting together for a TV special (their first reunion in about 25 years). What’s next? The Hudson Brothers?
