This initial premiere was my “audition” for TVgasm… This was the teaser premiere for Cheer Perfection that ran back in July 2012. I am working on last night’s episode now.
I am new to recapping, although I have been recapping through email and texts to my friends for the past two years. After I lost my job, I was welcomed with open arms into the world of reality TV and I haven’t looked back once. It entertains me, frustrates me, and gives me a reason to get out of bed; because as I tell my husband, my DVR will not play itself.
I am well-aware that reality TV is not always real. I understand that scenes are staged, that drama is encouraged, and that things are edited. That being said, I don’t give a fk. I love it. I can overlook the flaws and I relish the opportunity to judge the lives of people ridiculous enough to sign those releases. (I should probably be on What Not to Wear, but I refuse to let anyone know what a fashion crisis my life is… it’s my secret shame, and so it will stay.)
Alisha and RD Dunlap are the owners of Cheer Time Revolution in Sherwood, Arkansas. Alisha grew up cheering and doing gymnastics competitively. She’s the perky blonde cheerleader type you’d imagine, and RD is just slightly on the manly side of whipped to be a great husband, partner, and father. They have 3 girls (Cassidee, 10, Cambree, 5, and a baby). They have 8 or 9 dogs, Alisha can’t keep track, and because she likes to be different, she got a monkey. She admits the monkey isn’t very nice, but who else has one? (Um, not that lady in NYC who watched her monkey eat her friend’s face off.) But the Dunlap’s monkey is very small and is just kinda rude and tries to eat Cassidee’s breakfast.
I already hate the “ee”s at the end of their names, and I don’t know the babee’s name yet; but I will assume that they’ll be a C at the front and an “ee” at the end.
I will quickly introduce the mom/daughter teams that will be featured in this series and then the recap can begin.
We have Bonnie Crow and her daughter, Alana. They are new to the Cheer Time Revolution family, but they are not new to pageantry (or causing drama). Alana is a beautiful girl. Bonnie looks drunk like she likes to have a good time, especially during interviews. (And I love capturing her image, as you will soon see.)
