But as expected, Ann is pissed. She really likes Alana, but she refuses to let Bonnie be a part of YST.
Michelle is the mother of 11 year old Ashtyn. She wasn’t on the try-outs episodes. She seems like she’s a tough mom, but her daughter seems fairly talented. Michelle wants Ashtyn on YST too. She’s definitely got the skills, but she’s not a motivated kid. Her mom even says she’s lazy. (So am I, Ashtyn… so am I.)
Both Alana and Ashtyn would be super happy if they got on YST. Bonnie and Michelle have also been friends, so these two will be vying for the same spot. (I’m not sure the daughters realize that there is only one spot.)
Ann interviews, again, about how much she hates Bonnie. She thinks Bonnie needs a make-over. I won’t disagree, but I don’t think Ann has even met a cheeseburger she didn’t like.
At Bonnie’s house, Alana is stretching in the front yard for her mom and dad and is trying to do a back handspring with her dad as a spot. SHE IS EXACTLY LIKE SHE WAS LAST YEAR…. She’s terrified… and when she finally does it, she sucks.
Alisha is working on the routine that they have to perform in 5 days. The girls are so disorganized and the moms are seeing it. We get to meet Andrea, Kylie’s mom. She’s a stay at home mom who counts mistakes. I’m a stay at home mom, and my daughter is in college. Out of state. Who’s the lucky one now, Andrea? Kylie seems like a fairly natural gymnast and Andrea is pretty competitive. She interviews about all the estrogen in the gym. She claims she has to stay out of the drama, but then says she loves it because it’s her entertainment. I might like her.
I don’t like the drama… I love it.
Mandy, 8 year old Olivia’s mom, is a nurse. Olivia is a flyer and I think she’s good and totally cute. Her mom seems very intense and probably pushes her kids to excel. My sister pushed all her kids and they’re all like genius mega athletes… I was more hands-off and my daughter can’t catch a ball. But if someone is throwing a ball at her, it’s NOT because she’s playing a sport. I don’t do sports. Mandy worries that the bases don’t pay attention and that means Olivia can get hurt. She interviews that she likes to use the word “perfection” a lot with her kids… HAHAHA… I like to use the word “perfection” when my meatloaf doesn’t fall apart.

They do the routine again and I see about 5 girls that need to go. It’s a hot mess and at the end her youngest daughter, Cambree, drops to ground. Alisha is pissed at them all and so is Mandy. She likes when coach yells at them.

I thought Ann was hilarious, she is going to be a big shit disturber this season. Torann probably has ADD because you can tell anything being said to her is flying in one ear and out the other.
The youth silver team is not as good as it was built up to be. The only good ones that I noticed are Torann and Cassadee, their tumbling skills are very good.
It was so unprofessional of Alisha not to have the song on a cd, like do your job. I think that was one of the reasons they went out looking like a hot mess. They weren’t in sync and the stunts were okay.
Thank god Alana did not perform with them, because I think it would of been worse. I think Ashtyn deserved it more.
On the bright side Brooke’s summersaults are getting better!
I loved how during the party Ann talks about how hungry was and proceeds to stuff her face with cotton candy. Maybe it’s just me, but if I was hungry I wouldn’t try to fill up on cotton candy. Who goes and gets cotton candy when they’re hungry?That’s like somebody being hungry and grabbing a bag of sugar.
Did Alicia not have to make a cd, when RD mentioned it to her? I’m pretty sure burning a cd takes less than a minute. What kind of coach doesn’t have a back up cd anyway? And didn’t bother to check with to place to see what she needed to bring? I guess it didn’t matter since the girls couldn’t even get the routine to the right music or to the counts . So what difference does them sucking to the music make?
Alicia claims that it was “new” music, and that all the places they go just let her use her phone….yeah i am thinking that that baseball game was a last minute gig that TLC got them. It was hey, by the way, The Arkansas Travelers Farm team said you could to a routine before the first pitch. no they aren’t paying you. oh yeah, and it is in 5 days!! good luck with that!!
Again, why would you put your 5 year old that looks like she weighs less then a sack of potatoes on a squad with girls that are twice her size, oh yeah, just so they are on tv! Which mom in the previews said that she just pooped her heart? like if just fell out her butt?
This show is right up there with Amish Mafia…!! And, yes, I will keep on watching!
I want to hear more of the REAL story from the moms at the gym. I had a feeling this was fake. I thought they did well at the baseball game. How old are they 7-10 years old? They aren’t professional athletes. And to the mom who told her daughter to get away from her after the performance…what a mean bitch. Who does that? Your kid isn’t going to make a living being a cheerleader. It ain’t that serious.
Another thing that bothered me was how all the moms constantly said to their kids \im paying all this money I expect you you to be perfect…better\ WTF??? TLC is paying your kid’s tuition, and they are paying YOUR fatass to berate her on TV! We’re not being fooled!!

do baseball games really ever have cheerleaders? is it an arkansas thing? only baseball cheers i know are “we want a pitcher, not a belly itcher”… and “we want a batter, not a broken ladder”… (which, in hindsight, makes NO sense.)

@Madelyne27 – My daughters team has done one exhibition at a baseball game. It was a fundraiser, the team gave us a percentage of the ticket sales for that game and our girls and guys performed for the fans. It helped us pay our way to a big competition. No chanting in competition cheer…well, some teams do have a team chant/cheer but most do not.
My daughter attends CTR and is on another squad there, I have first hand info! The squad is made up of kids whose parents wanted them to be on TV. There was no actual tryout for this, just for TV purposes. These kids are on other squads in the gym, and as a matter of fact, YST doesn’t perform at any of the competitions as of now. They did a few for the TV crew that filmed over the summer. Cambree is a very talented cheerleader for 6! She is tiny, but can hang with the older girls. Alana STILL does not have a backhandspring to date. Ann is a complete bitch inside and out. Torrann is a brat, and seriously has mental issues, but so does Ann, so whatever! Those 2 have run off real talent from the gym. All the moms are actually friends, with the exception of Ann, Bonnie and Michelle, who have a love/hate relationship, but friends nonetheless. Alisha ALWAYS has her music on CD, so yes, that was a TLC thing. All the fights, parties, etc you see were all staged. Drama is stages, and they did as many retakes as needed to make this believable. There really is talent in that gym, but the good ones chose NOT to be on the show. CTR has a level 6 team that recently auditioned for Americas Got Talent. Don’t be fooled by this show. It is not as it appears. ALL STAGED, ALL FAKE! Ashtyn WAS at the staged YST tryouts on the very first episode, if you watch the tryout segment, you will see her and Michelle! Michelle stated on the show that Ashtyn was not there for tryouts….wrong! TLC approached Michelle and Andrea about featuring Kylie and Ashtyn, to add more drama to the show. Any questions…just ask! OMG YES!! It really is NOT her fault though! Her mother and father made her that way! She is an only child, and is GIVEN anything she asks for. She is VERY bratty and rude to the other girls. She, of course, thinks her shit does not stink. She ran a little girl off from the gym a year ago because she kept hitting the girl for no reason….and then would say she was just playing. She is a snot!

They moms/squad are a farce. Alisha is really a great person, and no I don’t think she needs therapy. She is right in the middle of anything and EVERYTHING in that gym, mama drama included, regardless of how she appears on the show. She is known to start some of the drama as well. Putting thoughts into others minds about what someone else may think about them! Andrea is all SHOW! She is a really nice person as well, and she and Ann are not superbuds like they are showing them to be. As far as I know, the only thing Torrann has killed is her coach’s time. I am telling you, something is NOT right with that kid!

That whole “no music” nonsense was purely ridiculous. I know this shit is staged but that was as over-the-top as trying to believe that Vicki Gunvalson doesn’t smoke crack.
Just to clarify, this is Ashtyn’s mom, Michelle, Ashtyn did NOT try out for Youth Silver, that clip was taken the day off our gym wide tryouts. Ashtyn had other obligations during the summer so she did not try out that day for YS, she tried out for another squad that she is currently on. If you watch closely on the pilot, I am cherimg for Ashtyn because she landed a round off back tuck, that skill is not for our Youth Silver level 2 squad. As far as fake Drama between me and other moms, it’s real, it’s active and not going to change, keep watching for more info
I will post opinion to this….I don’t feel this is someone in our gym it seems to me the information has been heard and someone that may know of me from pageants but you have missed some points that if you were in the gym you would know about….#1 youth silver was made as a special team that would compete in july and only go to competitions the entire gym did not do, to give the girls that devoted a lot of their time to the gym plus i wanted to take them to south padre in july which i did do and you didnt see any cameras there! I made a huge post on our yahoo group telling parents about this team……As far as the CD goes if you will watch closely when we are at breakfast in my house when rd ask me if i had the cd my girls were in church clothes so no i didnt have time to make a CD we were heading to church and going straight to the ball field…..I called a friend and asked her to make it but i emailed her the wrong music ……it was new music i had just gotten the practice before, and plus i dont have a clue how to burn a CD…ashtyn was at tryouts we had in the gym but did not try out for youth silver because she was not able to do some of the things we did….. After our july comp was over I gave that team a break……..Filming wasnt over summer it was the last weekend of Aug until first of nov….now as far as parties go anyone that is in my gym knows I am a party girl i love to have parties for those kids every team in that gym gets some kind of party for doing a great job over the year…..the back to school party was something andrea and I had planned before school started TLC heard about it and wanted to film it….I have all the receipts to prove that the party was all ours not TLC….ann running off kids in our gym I have never had one parent ever tell me they are leaving because of her! I totally agree with you we have amazing talent in the gym all ages……but this is the team TLC picked to follow

Breaking the fourth wall is only funny if the people don’t get it. Nice that they do get it and enjoy – just not as fun.
thisbuggs4u yeah you worried about her…..yeah me too makes me nervous she is talented but she is 6 so it makes it very hard on me cause as her mother i rather her not on that team way less stressful and i can just enjoy watching cassadee and not stress about her getting to her spots ontime…… as her coach i need her talent but hope she can pay attention and keep up with the big girls!!! it will be something to watch the next 7 episodes!

@alisha I find it kind odd that you and the other moms are so willing to post about the show I would think TLC had everyone sign nondisclosures…We all know they (TLC) lies, does retakes and then passes the show off as the truth. The Jon and Kate + 8 show taught us that.

I think the moms on this show are ridicoulous. They really are showing how ignorant they are. I mean really?? I know some stuff is for the camera but good grief.. give me a break! Not classy at all. Not being mean or anything but for this team to be a so called “youth silver” team,, I only see a couple girls on this squad that have any potential at all. Cassaddee is awesome.. her little sister is a doll baby,, I just dont see that many talented girls on this squad unless however they just didn’t show them. The two knit wit moms that are fighting there kids are not strong tumblers at all. The show is okay, but not my favorate.
Do all the MOMS know, accept and will be comfortable with the fact that the Gasmi doesnt hold back the snark or opinion?????

I was holding back my judgement on this show. Alisha confirmed what I was thinking, that this team was ONLY created for this show. I cringed every time the word \elite\ was used for the youth silver team. Please, don’t get me wrong. They are very talented for a level 2 team. However, when I think \elite\, I think level 5 and 6. My daughter is on a level 5 team but even I don’t consider their team \elite\. They are a restricted team. Now our coed team is beast and is by far our most \elite\. I guess everyone has their own definition tho. I will still continue to watch the show. I just hope that non-cheer people don’t think that this is really what all star cheer is. It’s far from it. Not ALL gyms have that much drama…my goodness. (I know I know…it’s \made for TLC\)
We have a cheer team also where we are from and we are not high drama either. Very talented girls… Yes they made the show and all agreed to act like total idiots to each other to get ratings however they are acting like fools doing it.. bahbahhahaha….
hate to say it but this goes for pageants too. Have been or used to go to some big time nationals and they are by far what they show on T&T. So yeah you are right.. you cant assume that everything is they way it seems and cannot think just because some group of people act like that everyone else does. Just sayin!!
it’s entertainment. and a small glimpse into someone else’s world. i think we all know it’s not full reality, but that’s why we love it… if we want real life, we can just go outside. am working on last night’s episode, but have some of my “real job” stuff taking up my time.
If Alisha is using the show to get advertising for the gym, it’s working. It may be a small glimpse but it’s enough of one to know that between the incompetent coaching, terrible skills (a dangerous lack of form, technique or polish. None of those girls can even perform a proper forward roll) and the mothers who are a bunch of obnoxious hogs trapped in 7th grade, I would never allow any of my children near this gym. Gross.

That baseball performance was a hot mess. I did Pom-pon dancing which is like cheerleading except you don’t stop and cheer in the middle but we did the stunts, dancing and tumbling. We actually were national champs 3 years running. So I speak with experience. I was not impressed.
I think it was good she pulled Alana. That was a good decision. I hate Ann with the fire of a thousand suns. WTF is up with all these moms that are fat and ugly that think they are hot shit?! I hate bitches like that. This is why I can’t do well with mom groups. I would be the mom over there reading a book and ignoring all that drama. Or be the RN’s friend because she is the only sane one out of all of them I think.
When we took dance, our parents just dropped us off and did something useful. There were no seats for them to sit and gossip and watch all day long. That is just asking for trouble. The only moms that stayed were like for the 3 years olds because they need help putting on shoes and stuff. Otherwise there was a mall 5 minutes away and I bet most of the moms booked it over there while their kids practiced or went home.
WTF is up with that monkey!? I was like “What is that thing!?” I like the Coach but she was way wrong to not have back up copies of her music and be that unprepared. Also wrong to put those girls out there looking that badly. No way. I coached Junior dancers and I know better than that. It does not embarrass the girls so much as it embarrasses their coaches.
A lot of times places like the ball fields or Six Flags etc will let you perform there but honestly it is just so they can make more money. They don’t pay and you still have to pay your own freaking admission most of the time. So it actually just gets them more business.
why was this show even made? these girls aren’t even talented. i don’t understand it. i had years of competitive and sideline cheer etc on my belt and even my early days we weren’t this bad. looks like TLC was just trying to cash in on the dance moms craze but they should have picked a better team with talented athletes. also i get the feeling that this drama is completely fake but hey that’s reality TV in 2012.
I agree that I would prefer it be more like Dance Moms where we get to know the girls better and that they should be top of the game cheerleaders.
This show is nothing but hate and a leader who keeps on being nasty and bulling little girls. & we thought Girl Scouts was bad mmmmm Some people shouldnt have kids nor should they be around kids…………….

I thought it was funny how they kept saying, “When Alana gets her backspring” like it’s her period that will suddenly show up one day or something. Good for the kids for how hard they work. Someone should buy Ann a mirror because she clearly doesn’t own one.
