‘Super’ proposal finds life on Mars

Have you seen this? The treacly pre-Valentine’s Day fable that will have millions of women asking their boyfriends/husbands, “Why can’t you be so romantic?” is spreading this morning. Rand Fishkin had attempted to propose to his girlfriend in a commercial during the Super Bowl. His plan to solicit money from strangers through a website didn’t work out, and his spot didn’t make the line-up.

But adtime on the CW is a lot cheaper and he was able to buy a spot during Veronica Mars, supposedly his girlfriend’s favorite show.

Personally, we prefer the T-Mobile commercial in which a guy breaks up with his girlfriend through a singing telegram ( “Happy Valentine’s Day! Your boyfriend’s got something to say! You’re not in his network and it’s costing him a fortune so he wants to break up today! He wants to break up today!”). But we’re just sentimental that way.

    Too cute. And her reaction is really what makes it so good.

    Although the TMobile commercial makes laugh too.

    Aw, that was really cute. I love how she said that she felt like puking right at the end. Haha.
