treehill012607 It’s time for an important update in our America’s Next Top TVgasm Writer contest. We have some finalists and a winner.

First, the finalists. For Survivor, Schoonie and Gary will be battling it out for the right to document Jeff Probst’s every televised move. They’ll be each submitting a recap of the season premiere on February 8th, and from there, you’ll vote via the comments section on your fave.

We were going to announce the finalists for Days of Our Lives too, but I just realized I had forgotten to post someone’s submission (sorry!), and that’s not really fair. Be sure to read the Days samples, including the new one that’s up, and I’ll announce finalists next week (click here to go to the Days of Our Lives samples).

And speaking of samples, we now have officially opened the doors to One Tree Hill recaps. We have two posted already, but if you think you’ve got the goods, email me at bside@tvgasm.com with the word “SUBMISSION” in your subject header. In the meantime, read the OTH samples here.

Oh, and did I mention that we have a winner to announce? Results after the jump…Because there were only two Lost submissions, it would have been redundant to have the writers enter a finalist stage where they’d have to square off against each other. They were already doing that, and a clear winner emerged. Therefore we’re proud to announce that the next Lost writer will be… James! Congratulations, James!

On behalf of the loyal readers and crazy B-Side fans I ask you once again -please please please DON’T give up Survivor?? Give up the Real World or The Challenges or something.

All this change is upsetting.

I second that remark. How can you give up Survivor? This is unchartered territory – don’t leave us hanging!

Oooh I am so glad James won the Lost recapping duties. No offense to the other writer – but James was just realllllllllly excellent.

I look forward to reading his first official recap.

B-Side, I will honestly die if you stop recapping Survivor! Think of all your fans who area going to be lost without you! It is hands down the best show out there and deserves the best recapper!
