With all the killer summer reality shows getting all the press on blogsites like ours, smaller networks like Sundance have resorted to bribery to get their shows mentioned. And a good bribe means good swag for you, our readers. This week we shamelessly shill Sundance Channels THE GREEN.
“Consisting of three hours of programming, THE GREEN will present original series and documentary premieres about the earth’s ecology and concepts of “green” living that balance human needs with responsible care for the planet. THE GREEN reflects the current tipping point in public awareness about ecological issues and the trend towards environmentally sustainable approaches to modern living.
Leading off each edition of THE GREEN at 9:00pm is the original program “Big Ideas for a Small Planet,” a documentary series presenting the forward-thinking designers, products and processes that are on the leading edge of a new green world. Each episode revolves around a different green theme as it spotlights a specific innovator or innovation that has the potential to transform our everyday lives. The individuals profiled range from scientists to fashion and product designers, entrepreneurs to first-time inventors.
Each episode of “Big Ideas for a Small Planet” is paired with a thematically complimentary documentary premiere at 9:30pm e/p. For example, the debut episode of “Big Ideas for a Small Planet” explores alternative fuel sources, and is followed by the television premiere of Crude Awakening ” The Oil Crash, a look at the past, present and future of the world’s oil reserves.”
So there was the Shilling, now to the contest, the person who can give me the best justification for being a lazy couch potato (such as we are at TVgasm) and how being a potato can in fact benefit the planet. . . best excuse for being lazy in terms of GREEN LIVING wins Sundance Channel’s “The Green” gift bag. Find out what’s in the bag after the jump. Send entries to firstname.lastname@example.org Subject: Green. Submissions will be taken until July 15th.
The bag is from Nautigear and has these items:
