It’s only going to take you about 2.5 seconds to realize that this post is not about Big Brother; I just needed an easy to get people to read. We love our reality shows here at TVgasm, but there are a bunch of us who enjoy some science fiction now and then. We still have a ways to go for the next season of Battlestar Galactica and Smallville has sort of become a joke (uh, sorry about that whole not recapping the season finale thing), but if you’re looking for a good SciFi fix, try The 4400 on USA Network. Most people know the story by now. 4400 people were presumed to be abducted by aliens, then returned for no reason. When they returned, we discovered that a lot of them have changed. And now we’re trying to sort out why. I would say more, but I don’t want to spoil anything for those who haven’t seen it, because you will get a chance to catch up on all of the important episodes you missed on The 4400 Special: Unlocking the Secrets this Sunday, June 4th starting at 9AM EST/6AM PST.
The new season starts Sunday, June 11th, at 9PM EST.
But of course that’s not all. We also have a 4400 giveaway for you. Details after the jump. Now that you know the details of the new season (yes, I will be recapping), how about a giveaway to celebrate. We have a Season 1 DVD as well as a 4400 T-shirt to giveaway to TVgasm readers. Entering the giveaway is simple. Last time we did a giveaway for The 4400, I asked TVgasm readers what music they would like to listen to if they were abducted by aliens. I was thinking of telling people that to do the What’s Your 4400 Ability Quiz, but that seems a little lame. Then again, I don’t have much of an imagination right now. So, in the spirit of unoriginality, let’s do movies instead. This time, send an e-mail with the subject 4400 Contest to contests@tvgasm.com. In the body, tell about your favorite alien or space-themed movie and the reason for your choice. You can send in your entries until Monday, June 12th. The winner will win the Season 1 DVD as well as the T-shirt.
There are too many good alien and space-themed movies to choose from, but I would say my favorites are Alien, Alien 3, The Last Starfighter, Species, and of course, Serenity. So, I guess give me your top five if you can’t decide on one.
Good luck!
If you like it, spread it!:

I loved Firefly, but I have to say it.. Serenity sucked a**. Major disappointment.
Battlestar Galactica is absolutely kick-ass, but I’m about to finish the second season, so I’ll have to check out the 4400.
Jordan Collier is alive!!!!!!!
So wrong- Serenity did not suck!! I enjoyed it so much it made the loss of the show that much more painful. Curse those idiots at Fox!
I started out watching The 4400 but after awhile it became sort of dull. Sure things happened but mostly to people I didn’t give a rat’s ass about. I will try the next season but it’s been so long I’m not sure I can muster up the interest.
i’m more excited than the ‘gasm boys at a blue t-shirt factory for the return of the 4400! looking foward to your recaps, j-unit!
I’m looking forward to Weeds and Deadwood this summer!
Not sure if you were aware of this, but The 4400 Special: Unlocking the Secrets aired on NBC on Friday Night. I couldn’t believe that a Network channel was wasting time “promoting” a show on cable. We maybe the last family to not subscribe to cable, so I was a bit perturb to see this. I don’t want to see a “secrets” on a show I have no access to see.
NBC probably did it becasue they had nothing better to air, and they own USA Network, so I guess they figured why not use the medium to attract more viewers to a sister network.
J-Unit, I am so excited that you’re recapping The 4400! I’ve loved every minute of the show so far, and I’m sure the next season will be even better.
I thought you were recapping? I was so excited for it!
