Emma is so moved by Bobby’s visit that she decides to visit Ann in jail. Ann asks Emma why she wasn’t at the hearing the day before. Does Emma really need to answer this? It was the hearing for the woman accused of trying to kill her father. Emma insists that she is there for support – for her father. Ann tells Emma a story about getting her hair done and being afraid to tell Harris. There is some kind of point, but it’s lost in Ann’s blubbering. Ann tells Emma that it will get easier. ‘It’ must be having a total douche for a father, but Ann is thrilled that Emma came to see her.
It’s time for everyone to conveniently gather at South Fork for the showdown. Elena and Christopher tell Bobby about the contract and Sue Ellen and John Ross show up. Bobby asks Sue Ellen if she is really going to take Elena’s shares. She tells him that it’s already done. Evidently they didn’t ask Lou to take care of it, because that sure was quick. Bobby turns around and yells for JR and they all run up to JR’s room. He’s not there, so they go back downstairs. Bobby reminds John Ross about the cloud drive. Bobby tries to pull it up, but it erases itself. Remember that stupid video of the dog – it had some kind of virus in it that wiped out the usb drive. Pam is walking up to the house and can hear Bobby yelling at John Ross. Vicente and his henchmen show up and grab her.
Vicente wants Christopher to call Ewing Energies and send everyone home. Then he will take one of Vicente’s men to get the patent. If Christopher doesn’t do this, he will kill Pam. John Ross is the only one that seems to give a shit and Vicente finds it very amusing. Hey Christopher, you may not like but she is carrying your babies. Since Pam isn’t a very good threat, he switches it up to Elena.
Back at the courthouse, Ann is on the stand, telling the jury about finding out Emma was alive and that Harris is the one that took her. The whole time Harris is sneering and his bitchy mother is glaring. I really miss the lighthearted days of Angela Bower.
Everyone is chilling out at South Fork waiting for Christopher to get back. It looks like some fun family time to me. Elena asks John Ross why he screwed her over. He claims that it is because she broke his heart. Sue Ellen and Bobby discuss their family issues and putting an end the vicious cycle. John Ross asks Pam why she backed out of their agreement. It was because of her father and they both realize that they have fathers they can’t please. Pam asks him if she was just revenge sex. He tells her that it was all he could afford. I have to say, I really like these two together. They are much more interesting that Christopher and Elena.
If you like it, spread it!:

Lou has quite the lucrative legal career! A lawyer that covers murder, divorces, and business contracts, and probably other types of law. I am in the wrong line of work! As always, I love your recaps and snark! I am really enjoying this season of Dallas and while I will miss JR, I am curious to see who will step into his shoes. And of course, the sooner we see John Ross without his shirt would be better!
John Ross does need to take off his shirt so I can stop staring at his curled up nose. Maybe it’s just me, but profile shots are not his friend.
Mr. Dancer and I were yelling at Christopher after he his tossed his methane thingy at the thug. Christopher grabbed the gun, WTF was he waiting for? Just SHOOT HIM!!! Don’t wait to see if he’ll give up!!! What kind of Texan does that? Seriously, he should have to give up his man card.
I found the scene with everyone being held captive until Christopher came back so super odd…. everyone off just chatting… Folks you may Die…. Come on.
They did something similar in the original series. JR and Ray Krebs were found to have been fooling around with some married women, and their husbands drove to Southfork, with a huge wind storm brewing, to do some justice. They had Lucy, Pam, Sue Ellen, and Miss Ellie all trapped, and the JR and Ray came back but couldn’t do anything. Bobby and Jock saved the day. I was thinking of this when I was watching this episode.
1. Judith Light’s fake Southern/Texan accent is the absolute worst, and is fooling no one. I fast forward through her scenes, as the “accent” is an affront to my Southern-ness.
2. John Ross is the best, but needs to wear less shirt.
3. I find the Christopher/Elena story line very unnatural, but also very similar to Bobby and Pam #1 from the original series.
4. Thanks for a great recap!
Am I the only one who detests Christopher. I don’t just mean that I dislike him. I find him vile. He is so pompous and, if I got engaged to my cousin’s fiance (um no that wouldn’t happen), I would think that I would have the decency not to flaunt it constantly. I know that Jesse Metcalfe is a crappy actor (he sure was on Desperate Housewives – at least when his shirt was on and I noticed his acting) but is Christopher supposed to be so unlikable? At least Bobby was likable in the original series and Patrick Duffy knew how to play a hothead without making him look like a schmuck.
@Patty I remember the hostage episode from the original series. It was done much better – maybe because it took a whole episode. (Or maybe there was no Christopher back then) Wow things move at a fast pace on this show.
Hantz Down: I agree about Christopher. He is always either threatening someone, trying to be a badass, or he is trying to get someone to do the right thing and then acting all incredulous when they don’t do it. Like Rebecca and Emma. I don’t know what he’s trying to prove. And yeah, I think it’s a little sick to go and flaunt his relationship right in John Ross’s face. Who knows, that PR lady or whoever she is seems awfully interested in him. We’ll see if he actually makes it to the altar with Elena! I’m glad someone else remembers the hostage episode from the original series. I agree, I think it was better because they took the time with it. It’s hard when things switch back and forth when they should really just focus on one thing at a time. Can’t wait for the new episode on Monday!
The hostage episode from the original series was great because (a) it had Brian Denehey and (b) the goal of the hostage taking was humilation because JR and Ray slept with the wives of the hostage takers so there was an emotional element. This season’s hostage episode lacked any emotional involvement. I mean, really, would Christopher not react at all when Pamela, the women carrying his babies that he claims to love so much, is being threatened. It wasn’t that long ago that they were married and I find it hard to believe that he would have so little emotional residue for her since her is so over the top mad at her. Christopher is a d*ck.
Can’t wait for the new ep on Monday too. Although Gary looked like crap on this week’s episode. Dude really needs a new hairstyle. Really.
