Cliff replaces Big Pussy as ‘Dancing’ star

ratzenberger.jpgA TV star from a past era will replace Vincent “Big Pussy” Pastore when Dancing with The Stars launches its fourth season in three weeks.

John Ratzenberger played Cliff the mailman on Cheers back in the day when Kirstie Alley could fit through a standard doorframe (young kids might recognize his voice, which has been featured in every Pixar film from Toy Story to Cars). In Dancing, he’ll fill the role of the game old fat guy, now that the Sopranos celebrity backed out earlier this week because it was too tough. Pastore is 60. Ratzenberger, currently seen tooling around the country in Travel Channel repeats of Made In America, is 59.

And he’s got three weeks to get in shape.Ratzenberger will be paired with Big Pussy’s partner, professional dancer Edyta Sliwinska, (who danced with Joey Lawrence last season).

He’ll be up against other “celebrity” dancers including Joey Fatone, Ian Ziering, Apolo Anton Ohno, Shandi Finnessey, Leeza Gibbons, Clyde Drexler, Billy Ray Cyrus, Laila Ali, Paulina Porizkova, and Paul McCartney’s one-legged estranged wife, Heather Mills.

Dancing debuts March 19th.

    I’m sorry Tabloid Baby, but this joke is already out-dated. Have you not seen Kirstie Alley lately? She lost her extra 200 pounds or so and actually looks fine. I think she was on Oprah a month or so ago sporting a little bikini. Oprah’s interior design friend actually remodeled her kitchen (b/c Kirstie couldnt’ afford to do it on her own?!?) to help inspire her to lose the extra weight. If this is all that it takes, why doesn’t Oprah remodel every overweight person in America’s kitchen? Obesity might no longer threaten America and everyone could be thin again!

    Ms. Alley isn’t a toothpick or anything but she would have to wear a fatsuit if she were to reprise her role in the short-lived series Fat Actress.

    Sorry, TWilliams, but fighting TB is futile. I tried to argue against the McPheeHate, but I was shouted down. We’ll have to visit OTHER sites if we want our news with simple snark instead of outright hate.
