I was never a big fan of the sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond. It’s not that I didn’t enjoy Ray Ramano’s comedy, and whenever I caught a repeat on the air, I usually had a good laugh. What I did notice was how huge of a bitch Patricia Heaton’s character became on the show. Every sitcom about a suburban everyman has to have a nagging wife that bothers him about playing golf and looking at the 20 year-old waitress at the diner, but that doesn’t mean she has a right to be a harping banshee. It may not have been Patricia Heaton’s fault that her character turned out that way, but I blamed her anyway, and when the show came off the air, I was happy because Patricia Heaton would leave the air with it.

She’s one of those right wing conservatives who goes on ET talking about how abortion is murder and even gave an “exclusive” interview to them about how she felt Terri Schiavo was being murdered by her husband.
Umm… I think that about half the country will *hate* Heaton: She’s a crazy, outspoken, right-wing nutjob.
Don’t expect too many “warm, fuzzy, bring-people-together” moments from her. Not that I would expect that from a harpy, anyways.
EdHill are you kidding? I used to like her. I hate when I find out things like that because then I just won’t watch anything they are on anymore.
she also attending the White House Correspondents dinner last year and could be seen yukking it up at all of Dubya’s bon mots.
I’ve always thought her insufferably smug, even before I became aware of her politics. My teeth start to grind together whenever one of those albertson’s commercials comes on the radio.
“attended” that should say, although i do like the Lenny-esque syntax of my typo.
Maybe her talk show will air on Fox News.
I may be alone in this, (around here anyway) but I like Patricia Heaton.
Of course I’m also what the kids call a “right wing nutjob”.
Paying the taxes in Upstate New York will do that to a person I guess.
plexitoes,
Don’t worry, I think everybody is entitled to their political beliefs. As a former upstater myself, I know your pain, although I was never old enough to have to pay property taxes.
That being said, we will have to work on that Patricia Heaton thing.
hey guess what? your taxes are going to go up to pay for the oil wars. keep voting against your own best interests. it’s fun to watch.
Don’t worry J-Unit, I’m sure the talk show will fail. The tv landscape is littered with the failed talk show dreams of actors. I agree about her charactor on the show- why would Ray stay married to that woman? Unpleasant doesn’t begin to cover it. Don’t care for her politics either but let’s not go there.
I agree with zevonia on the talk show thing-doomsville.
I didn’t care for her character on Everybody loves Raymond either, but I think she’s a decent actress.
Dredge (#10)we will have to just agree to disagree (I have to add I find it mildy amusing that your screename is one vowel change from being drudge.)
Ugh “ I was so grossed out when I saw her on Entertainment Tonight crying “ literally crying “ about the Terri Schiavo situation. I hate it when they talk to celebrities about stuff that is not their business it isn’t even funny. She was an actress on a sitcom – why did I need to hear her opinions on anything that is happening in the world?
I’m not a particular fan of hers, but what I don’t understand is why she’s being attacked for being too outspoken in her political views. The majority of Hollywood celebrities are outspoken from the other angle, so what’s the big deal with one person from a sit-com, not even a big star, saying something in the other direction?
Patricia Heaton – Future Surreal Life housemate.

I would not care about a Patricia Heaton talk show, although I liked her on “Raymond.” Bring on Megan Mulally, though…I think she’d do a great job, and she cracks me up.
she does the same commericals out here for Acme food stores.
djo8901, I agree with you. I Also, get sick of having to listen to George Clooney, Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins, Harry Belafonte, Barbara Streisand, Michael Moore, and Sean Penn do the same thing. But I’m sure you just forgot those.
StopMakingSense – I was totally going to add them to the list but I tried to stay focused. We should probably add Charlie Sheen to that list now too.
