Star Wars nerds and Family Guy dorks rejoice, Seth MacFarlane once again convinced George Lucas to let the Griffins re-tell part of the sci-fi canon.

Just in time for Christmas (December 22) comes Family Guy: Something, Something, Something, Dark Side. This isn’t your weird older cousin’s basement reenactment of 1980′s The Empire Strikes Back, but part of the fun is the dated references the Family Guy crew mixes in (a Juicy Fruit joke, really?).

From the hilarious opening scroll calling out FOX executives for their repeated abuses to sophomoric robot-erection jokes, Dark Side is an enjoyable romp that should satisfy Family Guy die-hards and amuse Star Wars loyalists. Plus there’s plenty of nonsensical randomness for those of us just looking for a laugh.

And who doesn’t enjoy getting to see cartoons liberated from the shackles of network television censorship and dropping a few curses?

Watch it with 10 friends and afterwards you’ll be quoting 10 different scenes and left with questions like, “How the hell did they get permission to use all that stuff from Rocky IV?!?”

Personally I left with the desire to dig up Don Knotts corpse, order one of these and ride off into the sunset. But that would be wrong.

Watched it last night. Thought it was pretty hilarious. My favorite was the ending when Peter was poking fun at Robot Chicken and then was like ok let me tell you a stroy about Without a Paddle and Chris yells “fuck you dad!”
