Big news from the world of Giada De Laurentiis this week. According to Variety, Giada has been upped to a contributing correspondent for The Today Show, which means she’ll be appearing on the “ayemer” at least twice a month. We’re so happy about Giada’s good fortune that we couldn’t help but celebrate by enjoying another one of her expressive moments in the kitchen. Behold: the great spa-GHITTI-gasm of 2006…

Things start off innocently enough as Giada eyes an errant string of spaghetti.

giada2090106
“Come to me, my innocent spaGHITTI!”

giada3090106
Giada ensnares the pasta with her fatal tongue of culinary seduction.

But wait! The spaghetti has entered all too fast!

“Yup, it’s stuck in my teeth.”

giada6090106
“A little help here…”

giada7090106
Oops! There she goes!

giada8090106
“Hold on… I think it’s stuck in my esophagus…”

giada9090106
“Okay, I’m fairly sure I’ve swallowed it all the way now.”

giada10090106
“Hmmm… that was pretty good.”

giada11090106
“Oh… oh yes…. that was good… momma like, momma like…”

giada12090106
“SWEET JEBUS!! For the love of pan-CHYETTA!! YES YES YES!!!”

giada13090106
“I’m… I’m numb.”

Ahhh, Giada… your cute little faces always make me laugh.

The wild crazy look is my fave, I think I see in some form or another on each episode of Everyday Italian.

Or at least I imagine it.

I like the “hmmm” face…she looks like a little cartoon character plotting revenge…all it needs is a little cloud above her head with a picture of the prank she’s going to play on the other squirrels.

b-side, tell me you got that episode the other day when Paula Deen made those fried peanut butter sandwiches à la The King?

    The Brownie Pizza?
    The Ham and Banana Casserole?
[The latter featured white bread, deli ham, crushed potato chips, bacon and cream...]

    It was insane!

Great review…the woman is insane. …What is “ayemer”?

Yes, I saw the grilled peanut butter and banana on Paula Deen…no wonder Elvis died young.

seriously, her random Italian-acccented pronunciations of food is really starting to bug me.

    “are starting to bug me”

My grammar just goes to hell if I type anything after 12AM…

Ok that initial image scares me and I’m afraid I’ll have nightmares now from it.

B-Side… more, more, more, please! I can’t get enough of Giada’s giant head!

LensmancT… according to Variety’s slanguage dictionary, “ayem” means morning, as in “a.m.”. Yes, Variety has its own built-in, clickable slanguage dictionary. I’m going to go puke now.

Although Giada uses all those annoying little Italian pronunciations for various foods, she obviously doesn’t know how to speak Italian! Shame on her mother for not teaching her!! But I do have to say that I enjoy watching her show most of time because I think she cooks some great stuff!
