Why wait in line when you can wait two years to see the week’s hottest movie blockbuster at home? FX has wrapped up the TV rights for Spider-Man 3.

The cable network has signed a five-year deal for the TV rights for the movie, and because the domestic box office receipts will determine the license fee, it’s going to cost them a lot.

What did it make in its first weekend? $140 million? Sutter?FX’s window would begin in 2009, following the run on Starz pay TV.

The cable network also holds the rights to Spider-Man 2. That deal is believed to have cost them more than 50 million.

The Spider-Man 3 pickup gives FX an impressive movie linup into the next decade. The FX titles include Night at the Museum, X-Men: The Last Stand, The Departed, Superman Returns,Click and The Da Vinci Code.

The Spider-Man franchise is also a perfect fit for FX which, as we told you yesterday, is now combining the macho with the sensitive and feminine. Just like Peter Parker.

$148, TB. Word of mouth isn’t great, though, so I’m guessing the domestic haul will wind up under $400 million (how will Sony ever make ends meet?).
