Survey Says… Excellent Choice!

Game Shows

Great news for Family Feud fans. After years of two lackluster hosts (Louis Anderson and Richard Karn, blech), the Feud is finally getting the sort of man it deserves: John O’Hurley. I can’t tell you how exciting this development is for me. Two of my favorite pop culture phenomena have united to hopefully create one blissful half-hour of survey-guessin’ fun. As Family Feud heads into its thirtieth season, producers are planning to makeover the game show with a new look and a new set. That’s all great, but if they don’t bring back the original theme song, I’m gonna start a letter writing campaign. I’ve surveyed a hundred people, and guess what? THEY ALL LIKE THE FIDDLE!

For more information, check out the press release here. And a few sneak peeks at the new-look Feud after the jump.

If the new Feud looks anything like this, I’m so there.

The set NEEDS to be retro-fabulous. Was there anything better than a half in the bag, horny ass, fondling some dude’s wife, Richard Dawson? John O’Hurley is a touch too classy. Now if the host were going to be J. Peterman…

While I’m at it… Does anyone else hate Wheel of Fortune now, but used to love it? Is it just because I’ve outgrown it over the decades? Or is it because it started to suck when they added lame categories and took away the fun, post puzzle shopping? “And, Pat? I’d like the ceramic dalmation for $400.”

I never understood why they gave Richard Carnes the gig. Caught a few episodes here and there and he seemed like a nice enough guy but alittle out of his element. John O’Hurley should be able to give the show a needed omph. I just hope he doesn’t do all of the Richard “lips” Dawson kissing though. YUCK!

(#3) Lizardqueen – Thank you for the reminder about the $400 Ceramic Dalmatian.
I wonder how many of those are still out there in America — being handed down as Family Heirlooms?!

    “Z, 4, Q, Q, Q, and the batman symbol”

I had no clue Richard Karn was leaving, my grandma absolutely loves that show and I got caught on it when there were such stupid answers as Where do people put needles – in their eyes..and what’s an animal in the desert- a lion. So amazingly dumb and funny!

    YES!!!!!!!!!

When I was fresh out of college and has no job, hours were wasted – HOURS, people! – on Family Feud and the Cosby Show. One of hour of back-to-back Family Feud reruns, followed by two hours of the Cosby Show…heaven….

I luv me some Richard Dawson…NO ONE has ever come close to him. I do look forward, though, to seeing John – I luv him too. But I wonder, why don’t they bring back Richard Dawson??? I mean, he’s alive and NOT working. Bring back Richard!!!!

I hope they bring back the opening where each family would strike poses and hold them while in the shadows, and then when the announcer said the family’s name, they would all come to life and start jumping up and down and clapping.
