At the drug store, Hannah sees Laird at the end of the aisle and it becomes clear that he has been following them around, making sure they did not end up in danger from the cocaine. He also bought himself some H, and asks them to hold him it for him, as he is still clean. Hannah wants no part in it, assuming H is what she thinks it is, but Elijah agrees as he may want to try it later.

Drugs aren’t bad, mmmkay?
Hannah gets a text from Marnie that she is at Booth’s- who Hannah explains is a tiny smedge of an artist that Marnie made her walk in front of his house repeatedly. Hannah says they have to leave, as she obviously has a few issues to clear up with Marnie.
When they arrive at Booth’s, Hannah confronts Marnie about sleeping with Elijah. Marnie, who had painted Hannah like a bad friend over a few season 1 issues, like her journal entries about Charlie and being unhappy in their relationship, is a little surprised that Elijah was honest. Hannah goes on a tirade about how she isn’t a bad friend, Marnie is a bad friend, who fucks ex-boyfriends. And Hannah is still wearing the mesh yellow tank top while having this emotionally necessary come to Jesus conversation with Marnie, so her argument may be a little obscured.
Hannah also informs Elijah that he will be moving out, as she no longer trusts him. Sad face for losing your coke binge buddy and one of the only characters that delivers consistently funny one-liners.
Marnie also wants to know what Laird is doing there with Hannah and Elijah, but Hannah informs her that he isn’t just a junkie. He’s her guardian angel. I hope my guardian angel has a drug problem and wears knit wool caps too. Wings and halos are so played out.
Back at their building, Hannah starts to kiss Laird at his door, before he asks for permission to kiss her back. Hannah tells him its only for tonight, which is fine by him. It is difficult to nail down junkies on future plans, after all. Hannah has finally found the story that will more than earn that $200 she is after.
If you like it, spread it!:

Great reacap!
I thought this was the funniest episode of ANYTHING I have seen in a long time. Lena totally nailed it with this one, her coke adventure with Elijah was pure gold. I loved the entire thing.
I was SOOO disappointed by Booth Jonathan! Last season, I thought the line he told Marnie “Im a man and I know how to get things done” was so freakin hot, only to follow it up this season with bizarre dirty talk involving a scary doll. Boooooo! Oh well….but he does have a nice ass.
M’kay, I’m old, must be the New Coke.
What a crazy episode. I do have to say I enjoy coked out Hannah. She was far less in her head about things. There was so much nakedness though, it could’ve been cropped a bit. The weird sex between Booth and Marnie was…creepy. The doll. What!? And then when he finally blow his load, he rolls off her and she just laughs. I didn’t understand the laugh. She looked uncomfortable and was not enjoying the sex at all. I dunno. Maybe that was her realizing he’s not as amazing as he said he was?
I find it very odd that we’ve had a collective of 3 minutes for both Jessa and Shosh. Did they have a falling out with Lena or something?
I’m guessing the storytelling dictated little screen time for Jessa and Shoshanna, as they had to explore Hannah’s adjustment to not living with Marnie and the fallout of Marnie sleeping with Elijah. Since Jessa and Shosh both had big, life changing events occur at the end of season 1, I expect we’ll start to see where they’ve landed now that the Hannah/Elijah/Marnie triangle has been somewhat resolved.
I think Jemima (Jessa) was pregnant during the filming of this…..so maybe thats why she hasn’t been around much?
@badgerfreak…..I think you’re right about the laugh. it was probably a nervous ” omg did I just describe a weird doll during sex??” laugh.
I love how this show has tonal swings that rival the worst of my mood swings. It goes from snarky to serious, zany and silly comedy to some really dark comedy, and usually all in one episode; sometimes even one scene. This was definitely the case in this episode and I loved the schizophrenic nature of it, it seems so much more like real life than the classic TV format of just choosing one tone and keeping it all the time.
Oh and one other thing, I now wonder after seeing this episode if Kreayshawn’s “Bumpin Bumpin” is about cocaine. Always figured it was more just about dancing, but after it played during Elijah and Hannahs argument in the bathroom at the club, and with this episode featuring Hannah doing cocaine and that drug sometimes being done as ‘bumps’ it got me thinking…
