We’ll bet Isaiah Washington‘s post-Grey’s Anatomy-firing publicity campaign isn’t being handled by the same PR wizards who spread the story that he was tossed into homophobia rehab after the onset dust-up in which he called costar TR Knight a “faggot.”
In the past week or so, Isaiah’s definitely been building credit for a ticket on the perceived-as-crazy train, blaming racism for the discomfort his booming words caused on the show, blaming TR for the campaign that ultimately got him fired from the show, and now, in a prime time interview with Larry King– blaming costar Patrick McDreamy Dempsey for the fight that started– and ended– it all.
Isaiah told Larry that he and Patrick never got along and that Patrick was constantly showing up late on the set. The fight though, was sparked when Patrick insisted on waiting for his costar Ellen Pompeo, before they began shooting for the day.
“I said I don’t need Ellen, I can act”, Isaiah said. “And that was the moment that sent it into a different zone”.
Isaiah said Patrick started it! “He became unhinged, sprayed spittle in my face. I’m asking him why is he screaming at me… he just becomes irate”.
Isaiah said he responded with “several bad words.” The exact phrase: “There’s no way you’re going to treat me like the B-word, the P-word or the F-word!”
Although he said the actually words, not a letter followed by the word “word.” (And what’s the “P-word”? Putz?) And as for that “F-word”– faggot– Isaiah said that was taken out of context; that he meant it not as an anti-gay slur but meant to describe “somebody who is weak.”
Well, in that case, that’s a faggot excuse!
Declared Isaiah: “I am not homophobic– in no way, shape or form.”
Right. Next he’ll be admitting he’s on the down-low. But here’s the real question that rises from all this:How does Larry King do it?
We know he’s got an electric fan on the floor behind the desk to blow the winds of his flatulence away from the guests, but what else does the old guy have that gets him guests like Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Paris Hilton and Isaiah Washington in the space of a week?
