  • Isaac Hayes has quit South Park, as he is suddenly shocked, shocked that the show displays “intolerance and bigotry” and ridicules religious belief. Dude, not sure how to break this to you, but for the last nine years you’ve been on the payroll of a show that’s featured NAMBLA, “cripple fights,” Christopher Reeve sucking on dead fetuses to get at their stem cells, and songs about how THE VIRGIN MARY CAN GIVE BLOWJOBS AND STILL BE A VIRGIN. [BBC]
  • In overkill news, the TV Guide Channel will from now on broadcast a live, one-hour preshow before every episode of American Idol. Along with interviews with past contestants, it will feature scandalous exposés of Paula Abdul’s prescription records and Simon Cowell’s West Hollywood bathhouse memberships. [AP]
  • Although Desperate Housewives fended off The Sopranos in their much-anticipated head-to-head this week, Grey’s Anatomy has emerged the Sunday night winner for several weeks running. I’m telling you, Sandra Oh is BOX OFFICE GOLD. [Variety]
  • And you might want to take this news sitting down: A&E has cancelled Rollergirls. Be strong. [Variety]

Another brainwashed Hollywood Scientologist. Everyone should check out the expose on Scientology in the current Rolling Stone. I’m sure Isaac got a call from headquarters telling him he had better resign from the show or else he’d be locked in some auditing room for a year. Oh, Isaac, how could you let these people turn you into such a pussy??

Isaac Hayes doesnt care if you mock other peopels religions, Just his. Hes a scientologist adn they just did an episode making fun of those freaks. THAT kind of intoloernce is bad:

“Past episodes of South Park have skewered Catholics, Jews and Mormons, among others. However, according to Stone, he and Parker “never heard a peep out of Isaac in any way until we did Scientology. “He wants a different standard for religions other than his own, and to me, that is where intolerance and bigotry begin,” Stone told the Associated Press. “

Rollergirls CANCELED? I just thought they were skipping it 1 week for that polygamy special(to compete with Big Love?). Ah, so THAT was what the petitions were all about. I initially assumed the petitions were about A&E not wanting to do a second season of the show(hopefully with a different league entirely). Well, that explains it then. Better cancel my tiVo season pass of it. Thankfully I know someone who has the DVD already for the remainder episodes. That still doesn’t explain why A&E skipped one episode(where Luna was screaming at the announcers).

Well, that craze is over, but I am still going to the local bouts.

Thabks for the link, plethLaura…takes a while to read, but worth it. It seems clear from reading it that Isaac Hayes must be under tremendous pressure after the Scientology episode, and were he to stay at his job the repercussions would be scary. I don’t usually talk bad about people’s religions, but HOLY GEEZ that one’s a doozy!!!

I am so pumped by Isaac Hayes quitting like this. It is complete insanity. I am loving this crazy Scientology implosion. Seriously — what is going on with them????!!??! Anyhoo — I cannot wait to see how the South Park guys handle Chef’s story line after Isaac’s not voicing him anymore. Will Chef talk like a girl? Will Chef be killed off by some crazy cult? Will Chef join a crazy cult that believes the dead spirits of aliens inhabit our bodies and need to be purged? Can’t wait.

Rollergirls cancelled? That’s a shame. Watching a bunch of women chanting “I am a strong woman” race around in circles seemed like an instant hit. …Kinda like watching the homeless people across the street in the park around the fountain chanting “I am not an alcoholic”.

So can Tom Cruise fling objects across the room with his mind and transport himself through time and space? You’d think the Mission Impossible 3 stunt team could’ve used his help with stuff.
