Newsgasm: Slur could cost Washington his Grey’s gig

Or at the very least, he’ll be forced into some sort of sensitivity training and record public service commercials for GLAAD. But you can bet he won’t be grand marshal of this month’s West Hollywood Halloween Parade.

The TV doctor-with-issues made unwelcome headlines and raised some eyebrows last week when he freaked out over cast members being late on the set at Prospect Studios, and went for the throat of “Dr. McDreamy” Patrick Dempsey. Original reports from spies there said only that Washington called co-star T.R. Knight a “bitch” and said some “disgusting things” to Dempsey.

Now we’re finding out just how disgusting and politically incorrect those statements were.The National Enquirer, which pays people to rat out this kind of stories, has rush-released its scoop in an urgent e-mail update this morning:

“The melee has set off World War III on the show and may cost Isaiah his job,” an insider told The ENQUIRER. “The cast is divided over the shameful event.”

… A heated discussion quickly escalated to violence when Isaiah snapped, revealed an eyewitness. At one point, Isaiah yelled, “I’m not your little faggot like (name deleted),” according to the source. Those who heard him were stunned.

Because of the extreme nature of the slur, The ENQUIRER is withholding the name of the co-star targeted by Washington.”

Thank you, National Enquirer, for your discretion. We had been betting on rehab for Washington. Now we’re betting on Eriq LaSalle.

    I wish the mention that this came from the Enquirer were higher up in the article (like high enough to make it on the homepage), because I’m taking this with a large chunk of salt.

    Um, if I were this jerk I’d just my mouth and be happy that I’m one of the few black men working in Hollywood. Hell in 5 years he would have been eligible for some George Clooney “ER” money. Hello, Mekhi Phifer?

    I don’t think the hoopla was that he used the word faggot but that he actually called out the person who is. No actor wants his picture to pop up when someone does a Google search for faggot. No one except Ryan Seacrest.

    Long time reader, firs time commenter. The Enquirer is a guilty pleasure of mine. I read it while I’m in teh check-out line. Won’t buy it though — someone might see me. Grain of salt, yes. Entertaining? YES!

    I agree with the notion that since it’s in the Enquirer, can it be true? I never read those trashy papers, nor would I give money to them. I guess just the people that were there know for sure what was said.

    I used to work for a well known escort agency in Manhattan, not as an escort but as a dispatcher (although I preferred to be callled either a pimp or a madam). While there I got all the best gay gossip but I was sworn to secrecy so I can only give initials when I talk about anyone, such as Mike P. of the NY Yankees, John T of W.B. Kotter and P. Fiction fame, etc. One of the tidbits I picked up while there was that T.R. K. and Neil Patrick H. (AKA Doogie H.) are boyfriends and have been together for quite a while. So I’m pretty sure that is who he was referring to.

    i agree with it being TRK- I mean what other guys are even on the show- do you think he would actually call the guy who plays the chief a faggot? and the guy who plays alex is maried with about 15 kids, which doesn’t mean he isn’t closeted, but really, its pretty obvious

    I was just going to agree with that assumption. Supposedly the reason that Burke went nuts on McDreamy is bc Burke was picking on George(sorry, using names from the show obviously), and McDreamy stuck up for him. So, that definitely all fits together.
