ABC’s telenovella experiment, Ugly Betty, was watched by 16.1 million people Thursday night, making it so far the most-watched new series of the fall season. Even more impressive: it was the best debut for ABC in that time slot (with a scripted show) since Matlock in 1995. So congratulations, ABC. You’ve finally found a worthy follow-up to Andy Griffith. We knew you could do it!

I’m glad. I really enjoyed the show and will keep watching. Betty, Justice, and Heroes are my favorite new shows.

It was actually a really cute show!
I had to record it and watch it later since it came on at the same time as Survivor, but I’m glad I did b/c I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I thought Ugly Betty was really fun! For me, Survivor is falling to third place in the Thursday at 8 race, behind Ugly Betty and Earl/Office. I just can’t get enthusiastic about Survivor anymore.
