Make it or Break it Recap: Listen to the Universe

On the last episode of Make it or Break it, my heart was broken into several pieces as Kelly Parker and Lauren Tanner were kicked out of the running for Olympic gold. Of course there is a slight chance that Lauren isn’t totally out but it still sucked a fatty. Sheila went batty once she found out that Kelly had been eliminated and threw out the Affirmative Action card against the Coach and Jordan. At least she still has Wendy to make money off of…oh right, Wendy is the mole which got her daughter kicked to the curb. Who knew sunshine could be so devious?

Kaylie’s stank face

The girls are all practicing while Wendy stares at them like a grown man at daycare. We find out that she is third behind some random no-name girl and Kaylie. She watches Kaylie and Payson who talk about how unfair it was to accuse Jordan of being the mole when she wasn’t. Payson thinks that they were jerks for being so judgmental and comments that Jordan is a great gymnast. She knows she has the potential to join them on the Olympics team so Payson decides that her and Kaylie should make friends with Jordan so it won’t be awkward. Kaylie finally gives in and they go over to speak to Jordan who wants nothing to do with them. They both apologize but Jordan says it isn’t the first time she has been misjudged while giving Kaylie stank eye.

Did you guys forget that she’s a mole?

Kaylie thinks the apology was for nothing and that there is no getting through to a hard headed Jordan. Payson compares Jordan to Lauren and says that they are both probably holding grudges from the past. Kaylie tells Payson that she will never be friends with Jordan no matter how hard Payson tries to make it happen. They walk off and we see that Wendy has been spying on them the entire time. Did they forget that this girl is the mole? I would be all sorts of “Where’s Wendy?” to make sure all my business stayed private.

FINALLY!

Lauren, Mac and Steve are speaking with the doctor who explains that Lauren has a rare form of super ventricular tachycardia and the best course of action is open heart surgery. So we FINALLY get an answer! I guess the writers couldn’t agree with all the choices that come along with “dizziness, numb hands, and black outs” on WebMD. Lauren is eager to get back to training and asks what the next steps are and how soon can she get back to training. The doctor explains that she will need months of recovery time just to do normal activities and Lauren breaks down. She asks her dad if there are any other options (because you know his ass has researched everything under the sun) and he sadly tells her no. Mac says that Lauren won’t be able to make the 2012 Olympics because of her medical issues. Defeated, Lauren says that nothing matters if she can’t fulfill her dream and cries.

Safe…for now.

Jordan and Wendy are in their room preparing food for Jordan’s rabbit. So she didn’t eat it after all you guys! I guess stealing food from Wendy has allowed the bunny to have a few more weeks of living. Wendy tells Jordan that she went to see Lauren and met her father who she says is a sweetheart. Wendy tells Jordan that Lauren is out because of her surgery and Jordan questions whether Lauren really even has a heart. Wendy says she is happy to be rooming with Jordan because Kaylie would be boring (true story) which causes Jordan to get up and leave with the rabbit. This leaves Wendy the opportunity to light a candle and set the fire sprinklers off on purpose while standing on an Ikea rug. Seriously, my friend has the same exact one in her kitchen. <3 Ikea

This bitch is cray cray.

Speaking of boring, Kaylie and Austin are walking in the rain and Austin is telling her how he is solid on his rings but needs to work on his floor routine and that eliminations for the boys is coming up very soon. He also tells her that a rep for Puma called him and wouldn’t have called unless he was guaranteed gold at the Olympics. They reach the dorm where a fire truck has parked itself outside with firefighters running around. Coach says everything is okay and the fireman explains that there must be a short some place and that there is water damage everywhere. Wendy says she was just reading when it started raining in the room and then suggests that her and Jordan move in with Kaylie and Payson. Jordan rolls her eyes but agrees to room with Kaylie.

Come on Steve…you didn’t try hard enough for an alternative!

Payson is helping Steve pack Lauren’s things and she tells him that she has tried to see Lauren but she won’t even let her up to the room. Steve tries to reassure Payson that she is just overwhelmed since she had to give up on her life dream. Payson starts crying and says she is sorry for everything and Steve tells her thank you for saving his daughter’s life. He knows it has been hard on Payson but he is grateful for what she did. Payson inquires whether there is anything else that can be done because she too almost lost her dream but was able to bounce back. He tells her there is a doctor that is performing radical procedures but because Lauren is an athlete he won’t work on her because of the risks. I guess Steve didn’t throw enough money at him because he usually gets his way when he really wants it. Meanwhile, Jordan moves in with Kaylie who tries to make peace by saying they can’t room together without speaking. Jordan is over it and tells her not to be fake. Kaylie wonders why Jordan has a “rodent” and Jordan tells her it is a rabbit and asks her if she has a problem with it and then calls her Cruella de Ville. How did Kaylie not know it was a rabbit considering she has rabbit teeth?

SUMMER!!!

Steve goes to visit with Lauren and brings her favorite stuffed monkey from when she was a kid. Lauren says that stuffed socks won’t cure anything and Steve agrees. He says that is why he brought someone else to come cheer her up and in walks SUMMER!!!! Ok so at first with the outfit, I thought she was a little preggo but it was just bad styling. Anyway, Summer apparently lives in Florida now but took the first flight to come see Lauren. She says she has something to help her and Lauren says what we all feel (if you’ve been a fan since the beginning) in that she just doesn’t feel like praying at that moment. You know Summer is only brought in for spiritual relief. Lauren walks off as Summer looks stunned. I missed Summer but I don’t want her to jump right into the Jesus either…wait to be on screen for at least 20 minutes!

G-O-O-G-L-E Meeee! Just click dem keys!

Kaylie and Payson are trying to find out more information on the doctor Steve mentioned and they find out that he is on some sort of retreat in Santa Fe. Payson feels like she can convince him to work on Lauren because she knows what it is like to lose everything and come back from it. Payson makes it her mission to go to Santa Fe to find the doctor. Jordan meets with Mac and he tells her that her performance has been amazing and she says she told him that she belongs. He agrees that individually she is performing past expectations but she needs to be a team player. Her team profile even says as much but Jordan disagrees that she needs to be a part of the team. Coach tells her that a lone wolf doesn’t win gold and he knows that Kaylie and her have tension so that is why they are rooming together. He tells Jordan that it is time to join the pack.

Who puts up pictures of themselves on their own wall?

Kaylie and Austin are in his room and he’s telling her how he slipped off his rings in front of everyone. He doesn’t want to give up his Iron cross as that is his signature move and he says that perception is everything. He can’t appear weak to his teammates since he is the oldest on the team. Kaylie says it’s not worth risking your career for one move but he is unconvinced. Kaylie suggests that he stop by her gym so she can see his floor and help him tweek it. How old is Austin because he keeps saying he is the oldest guy on the team and if he is that old why is he dating Kaylie? And why are they basically nekkid in the room by themselves? Hello remember what happened to Emily?

She’s not worried about riding on a motorcycle?

Payson and Rigo go off to find the doctor under the guise of a healthy bar promotion leaving Kaylie behind to lie for her. Kaylie walks back into her room and Jordan is sitting there and says that she is right that they can’t room together and not speak to one another. So they decide to finally hash out whatever happened back in the day and boy what a doozy…Kaylie says that Jordan got buddy buddy with the coach and her gymnastics took off while leaving Kaylie in the dust. Hmmm so she was jealous that Jordan had more talent than her? She says Jordan hurt her and Jordan defends herself saying that Kaylie was the one that hurt her. Jordan says that Kaylie’s dad basically bought her a gym so she could get away from Jordan and that she never even congratulated her when she won the championships. She admits that she isn’t good at saying she needs people because they tend to never need her.

Basically Kaylie is a shitty friend.

So basically this whole thing started because Kaylie was jealous and ended up ditching Jordan when she needed her the most. They agree to end things and Kaylie says she really needs someone she can trust and then tells Jordan that Payson went to find a doctor for Lauren. She says that Wendy cannot find out about it because if she tells Mac they could all be in trouble and she needs a partner in crime. Of course Wendy walks in right at that moment…she probably got tired of putting her ear to the door. They usher her out under the guise that Payson is sick and Jordan agrees to sleep in Payson’s bed until she returns so Wendy won’t catch on.

Nooo our Queen feels defeated :(

Summer is still with Lauren who looks like she has the plague, I didn’t know heart conditions can cause your face to look all jacked up. Lauren tells Summer she should go back to Miami because she is not fun to be around but Summer says she won’t leave her. She suggests getting out of the room and going for a walk but Lauren says it’s probably just to trick her to going to the chapel. Summer says she wouldn’t trick her and that she can only benefit from prayer but Lauren is tired of praying for things that don’t work out. Lauren says she asked for her mom to come back (she died), she asked for Summer to marry her father (she didn’t) and to be an Olympian since she was 6. Summer tells her that God is not Santa and Lauren says she is tired of praying to a God that doesn’t answer her to which Summer says that No is also an answer. Lauren asks Summer to leave and turns around to cry.

Are we 12?

Austin and Kaylie are practicing and Kaylie gives him advice on which moves to do so he doesn’t further strain himself. He performs his routine and turns into a balding old man…seriously you guys watch the clip again very slowly. I know they use stunt doubles but come on! Kaylie’s suggestion is that he perform a 1 and a half twist instead of 2 so he can save his strength for his signature move on the rings. He agrees and decides that the quick and clean floor will work well with his rings. Kaylie gives Austin a piece of her journal in order to inspire him…it’s probably the worst thing I have ever heard and I just wonder when Kaylie will mature past 12. Austin says he loves her and then they kiss. Can they break up already I am so sick of them!

REALLY PAYSON?!

Payson and Rigo are camping out and plan to go to the retreat site in the morning. It’s cold and Rigo suggests zipping their sleeping bags together and Payson tells him that they are not on a pleasure trip. I’m kind of surprised by how nonchalant she is about the whole thing considering she didn’t even place boys into the equation until about 6 months ago. I’m a little disappointed actually because Rigo says if it is uncomfortable and she cuts him off and says she wants to but she’s a virgin. Really Pay? It’s been maybe a month and this is like your second boyfriend and you are all set to bang it out but you’re scared because of your lack of experience? Payson says she wants to wait until she wins gold (good luck with that) and Rigo says that it is cool she takes sex seriously. They decide to share the tent and sleeping bags together. The next day they wake up in each other’s arms and continue on the way to see the doctor. Payson is worried because she isn’t sure what she can say to convince him to see Lauren.

Busted!

Wendy is getting ready to leave and talks with “Payson” saying that she is amazing and totally going to London but Jordan is just a charity case for the coach and wacko. Wendy doesn’t realize that “Payson” is really Jordan and I think Jordan finally gets the idea that Wendy is a shady bitch. Summer and Steve are meeting and Summer tells him that Lauren is in a dark spot and really needs him to assure her everything is okay. Steve says he shared her dreams and built their lives around it and doesn’t know how to tell her that it doesn’t matter anymore. Ugh…I miss these two being together. Summer really balances Steve out and she was great with Lauren. Austin tells Kaylie his routine went well and that the list goes up at 4. He says it was clean and he feels good about it even though they did not see his ring routine. They agree to meet to find out the results and methinks that Austin is out as well…

Why couldn’t we have more Jake instead of Rigo??

Lauren wakes up and sees Jake staring at her creepily…what is with all the creepy staring going on in this episode? Anyway he tells her that he thinks she needs some good luck and has brought Otis for her to rub his head. Lauren does for good luck after being warned that he will take down the gymnasts if they try and grab Otis from the wrestlers. What a sweet gesture! Payson and Rigo arrive at the cult camp and ask to speak with the doctor but the gatekeeper tells her no. The gatekeeper says that he can’t reach the doctor because there are no rooms and no phones to call him and that even if he lets her in, there is no talking allowed on the grounds. Payson won’t take no for an answer and jumps the wall to find the doctor on her own. Im sitting here wondering how she will know who he is but apparently she printed a picture of him that she found on the internet. She follows him into his tent.

You gotta pay the troll toll

Lauren and Steve are talking and he tells her that he is proud of her and Lauren asks how can he be proud when he has put everything into her future. She feels like a failure. He tells Lauren that she doesn’t need the Olympics to win his love as he have always loved her. Lauren says she feels like she has let him down even though she knows it is not her fault and Steve says she just has to keep fighting. He tells her that they will get through it together just like they have gotten through everything else that has happened. He says they are Team Tanner and they aren’t going anywhere and will find a new adventure together. You know despite raising a spoiled brat, Steve really loves Lauren and has done everything he can for her. You can’t say he didn’t have good intentions along the way.

TEAM TANNER!

Payson interrupts the doctor and pleads her case for Lauren and asks him how does he know that it won’t work on an athlete if he has never tried it. She says that the open heart surgery could ruin her chances at going to the Olympics (not to mention her chest, scars yo). She begs him to just examine her and that it would be life changing for her. This whole time he has been sitting with his eyes closed and finally opens them. Breaking his vow of silence, he says that the stress of being an athlete enlarges the left ventricular and that there are no guarantees it will work on Lauren. Payson says then there is a guarantee that it may work. Payson asks him if he is worried about his track record and he says that his reputation and a life are at stake. He tells her his final no and the gatekeeper walks in to escort her away. She sits down and says that she read everything she could about him on the internet and he seems like an amazing man but he’s not as brave  as she thought. Payson says she has more faith in him than he does in himself and is finallyescorted out of the tent and camp.

Love Love LOVE Summer and Lauren.

Lauren finally decides to pray and asks to accept her condition as Summer walks in to comfort her. Payson and Rigo are talking with Kaylie about getting kicked out and how the doctor told her no. Rigo says that the answer is to trust that it will be okay because things don’t always work out the way that they want them to.  Rigo leaves and Kaylie says he is a good guy while Payson says he is perfect. Kaylie asks what happened in the tent overnight and Payson says she fell in love…ITS BEEN LIKE A MONTH! Payson says he was a gentleman and that it was so romantic that she wishes she had banged him. UGH…I thought if they had sex it screwed up their bodies which would mess with them doing gymnastics. Did we forget that little speech from season 1 and why is Kaylie being an advocate? She went on a whole rampage when Lauren and Emily wanted to have sex and now she’s like omg you can still do it because he still has the tent. Steve interrupts their fuckery to tell Payson that Lauren finally wants to see her.

How long did it take him to come to this realization?

Austin meets up with Kaylie and tells her that he is off the team and did not make the list. He is furious that he listened to her about doing such a simple routine that made him look old and weak (nope that was your stunt doubles fault). He blames Kaylie for losing his shot at another gold medal and future endorsements. She says she has done nothing but support him and he says that since they got together he has lost himself and she has brought him down. He says he has lost everything and people don’t want meetings with him unless she is involved. The final blow is when he says he is not interested in being Mr. Kaylie Cruz and walks away. Either Kaylie is stunned or stupid because she has no reaction to being broken up with and blamed for Austin’s failures.

So you DON’T want bananas in your smoothie?

Jordan is hanging with her bunny when Wendy walks in and tells her that Austin didn’t make the cut and blamed Kaylie (since you know her ass was following them). She says this is the sort of thing that makes you lose your focus and she is glad they don’t have gold blocking boyfriends. Jordan is over Wendy and gets in her face telling her to stop talking smack about people behind their backs and that they are going to London as a team. She says no one will trust her if they find out and Wendy just looks scared that the black girl is finally yelling at her. It’s kind of an awesome scene but now I’m worried that Wendy will boil the bunny as revenge.

BFF4ER!

Lauren and Payson finally meet up and Lauren apologizes for being a jerk and taking her anger out on Payson unfairly. They hug and Payson says that she feels they have become good friends and she is not willing to give up on that so easily. She tells Lauren that she is there for her 100% no matter what and Lauren says she hates the sound of no matter what but she needs to accept what is happening. She says she is a control freak but sometimes she has to let go and trust that everything will be okay in the end. Steve enters with Summer and Dr. Walker which excites Payson.

Listen to the Universe…or Payson’s whining!

Lauren is shocked because she was told she was not a candidate but Dr. Walker has agreed to examine her. Steve says it is a result of Payson who went to visit him at the cult/retreat. Payson says she wanted to help her so she went to find him but would explain the entire story later. She asks him what changed his mind and he says it was the retreat and their mantra. It’s something like in silence we find answers but in our hearts we find the courage to go forth. He says he needed to find courage to do what Payson asked him. Lauren and Payson are excited and crying at the possibility of saving Lauren’s dream.

Um he dumped you like an hour ago…

Kaylie goes to Austin’s room with a huge cupcake which I guess is fine to devour since he is no longer training. His room is empty except for a box on the bed. Kaylie searches through the box (nosy!) and finds a note that says to deliver it to her. Inside she finds that stupid framed page from her journal that she gave Austin earlier in the day and she starts crying. Didn’t you realize you were done when he blamed you for losing himself like an hour ago? How come these girls can’t remember anything??

You didn’t win gold, you just borrowed Sasha’s!

Payson and Rigo are in a tent obvs and she says she is lucky to have found him. He asks her if she is sure she wants to continue and she shushes him and says listen to the universe. She zips up the tent but leaves on the lamp so we can see that she then takes her shirt off and they kiss. ARE YOU SERIOUSLY KIDDING ME WITH THIS??? She met him like a month ago and previous to that she hadn’t been in a real relationship. They had this whole thing about not having sex in Season 1 and Payson was all about her goals and not letting anything get in the way. Now she’s having sex in a tent in a closet while trying to get on the Olympic team?

Summer shares my thoughts about Payson and Rigo.

UGH….So who is excited that Summer is back and who thinks she should try again with Steve? Are you happy that Kaylie and Austin are done? How did you feel about PayGo going all the way? What did you think about Jordan and Kaylie’s backstory and whose side are you on? Guys we have like 2 episodes left of the series which was confirmed by next week’s preview. I’m pretty sad but I do agree that the series should probably end soon, how much more can we watch of these girls after the Olympics are done? Maybe they could continue with a new crop of girls starting out? Anyway check out last week’s recap here!

I agree with you about Payson/Rigo. I thought they were okay at first; I thought it would be a nice fling NOTHING SERIOUS. As a serious relationship, it will not work out. And now it looks like it’s serious. I HATE them together. I was always a Payson/Austin girl myself. I feel as though Rigo has changed Payson in the wrong ways. Honestly, if he was a real man and really “respected” her values, he would have told her they should that they should wait for the sake of her values and goals, just like Sasha did with Summer. I never really liked Rigo from the get go anyway, just because he always seemed kind of fake to me, he also seemed a little too perfect; he never seemed to have any depth to him like Austin does. The last part made almost throw up. This show I swear has been giving me neck problems because that last scene made me not sleep well the night after. It’s just so gross, and she only knew him for A MONTH. *sigh* I don’t want her to get pregnant, but I do want her to get a real wake up call. I just hope that they renew the show for another season and they bring the old Payson back. That’s my wish.

Austin has always creeped me out, but I never thought about the age difference between him and Kylie before. You have to be at least 16 to compete in women’s gymnastics. I would say most Olympic- worthy woman gymnast are between 16 and 18. Men are different because they are stronger when they are older, like early 20′s. So let’s pretend Kaylie is 17 and Austin is 24-25??! I’m not a gymnast, do I could be completely wrong. I do like to watch gymnastics though :)

    Great recap, SG!!!

I figured Lauren would be back. I think the final 5 are Kaylie, Payson, Lauren, Jordan, and a random girl. Unless Emily Kametco comes back!!

The sex/tent thing was cheesy and they did the same scene in Pretty little Liars, another ABC Family show.

I’ve always liked Steve and Summer together. Somehow, they just balanced each other out. She helps him see things from a different perspective, and usually a better one at that. Summer by herself can be a tad annoying, but her with Lauren and Steve, helping them to deal with the circumstances individually and as a family, was executed nicely. Also, I liked that they weren’t shoving her into every conceivable scene.

Something tells me there is more to the whole Kaylie/Jordan backstory than just what we have from the angle of the girls. In a preview for next week, Jordan goes berserk and bashes in some car windows. I think that this may also relate back to why she was literally unable to do her signature move, even though her Olympic dream was on the line. I am wondering if there is some sort of trauma from her past that will somehow re-appear. That would at least add some substance to their histories together, rather than simply that very lame “feud” they resolved in about 12 seconds.

Austin is sitting with Kaylie’s parents in the promo for next week during what looks to be a performance. Maybe they aren’t done? I feel like he was way out of line, though. She was trying to help him and has been nothing but supportive of him while at the training center (all that Golden couple, sports commentator, chummy-with-her-dad crap). Misplaced anger much?

Finally, as much as I like Payson and Rigo and think they are totally adorable together, I am really not liking her boy-crazy behavior, especially now that they are so close to the Olympics. It is hard for me to believe that the girl who was so against boyfriends and sex three years before the Olympics would be so quick to throw all that out the window WEEKS before the Olympics. Seems a bit impulsive to me—particularly after she TALKED WITH RIGO ABOUT HER WANTING TO WAIT!!! I hope nothing negative results from this though, as I would hate to see this ruin her changes at the Olympics. Lord knows Wendy was probably spying on them in the tent.

@SG I don’t think I ever appreciated the full impact of this show till I started reading your recaps!

You’ve got this talent of putting it all into a kind of trap that not even a single scrap of plot or character stupidness can escape from. So now I get to ROFL at it twice as much! Thanks!

I can’t wait to find out the secret of why Jordan won’t do her special layout. I hope it involves a promise she made to the bunny rabbit.

How can they just end the whole show in 2 weeks? Before we even have time to decide if Payson looks different after losing her cherry.

Anyway 1 of my favorite things is how they’re supposed to be teenagers but by now some of the actresses are starting to look more like they’re about ready for college graduation.

So I was hoping they’d just keep on going like the original Beverly Hills 90210 did.

What if they started listening to an alternate universe? Where the 2012 Olympics gets cancelled. On account of the Mayan calendar thing turning out to be right.

Or they could get all artistic and slow the story down to real time. Where every episode’s about 42 minutes of their lives.

Anyway boo to it all ending but Yay to the return of Summer!

Maybe as a consolation prize they’ll at least bring back Chloe for the finale!

I am glad Austin is gone. The scene where Kaylie was rubbing his sholders – holy fake tan batman. Then the floor routine scene – at least when they use the girls stunt doubles, they have the same hair, are around the same height and build and never really show their faces. Maybe they are getting sloppy with the editing, but I rewound just to make sure it was as bad as I thought it was.

So, when Payson found the doctor in the tent, all I could think is ‘so that’s where the evil teacher from 90210 ran away too’.

All the shots of Wendy going from nice-bubbly-girl to evil-boiling-pet-bunny in her facial expressions scare me. That is the type of stuff they use in thriller/murder mystery movies when they are not so subtly trying to reveal who the psychopathic murderer is.

How old is Rigo supposed to be? The girls are all about 16, correct? Why would be be stunned the an 16 year old female elite athlete was a virgin? And are they using the fact that since he is a BMX athlete, it is totally normal for him not to be? As short as a one month ‘relationship’ sounds. If they are living at the training facility, they could be hanging out and seeing each other a lot more than the show shows. One month could actually be like 15 ‘dates’ (that is taking it low considering he was out of town for a week). It reminds me of a college type relationship where most of the student body lives on campus. I could also see Payson stopping right before doing the actual deed.

This show would also work for a winter sport, think ice skating. Then ABCfamily would have two years before the next Olympics. It could work, I think the fans would transfer.

Someone called it about Austin being off the team. Man what an assy way to react to it though! Take some personal responsibility. Also you already did one Olympics and medaled so big whoop if you don’t get a second chance. You already did better than everyone else in the world. You can be sad but no reason to be an ass to the girl you “Love”.

There is obviously some “trama” about why she won’t do her signature move. I wonder if that coach molested her or something?

I am prettttty sure that the girls are around the 18/19 age range because if you remember the first few episodes Wendy clearly states that she is 16. Later she says something about one of the girls being aged out and Lauren snaps at her that they are the same age as the girl she was talking about. The girls are also a few years older than Wendy and Jordan is the same age as the Rock girls and Kelly.

Considering how hard it was to get a “first” date, I think they have very limited personal time so I don’t think they had that many dates that we didn’t see. I think she just got caught up in a rebound from having her heart broken for the first time with Max.

Hahah Payson in the tent I kept thinking when is that other guy going to leave! NOSY!

Thank you for the awesome compliment! They better bring back Chloe…I need more Susan Ward in my life. That woman is just fabulous!

I was hoping for a continuation similar to that because we’re really invested in the characters now and not so much their goal. We already know someone will make it to the Olympics but we’re more interested in their personal journeys. I think fans would appreciate continuing the series with them living their lives post-Olympics.

That is definitely what I am leaning towards. Especially since Kaylie’s perspective is that she was “sucking up to him” and that he was spending all his time with her.

I though that was the age range of the girls, but then I remember how crazy the MIOBI timeline is. In their world, I think only about 12-18 months has passed since the pilot episode, which would make them close to 18. One reason that made me think they weren’t legal adults yet, was the fake ID Lauren had to go to the doctor. I think the double purpose of that was to 1. Have a different name so as not to trace it back to her and 2. Be of legal age, as if she was a minor, there would be an obligation to not only contact her dad regarding her health condition, but also she wouldn’t be able to sign any of her own forms. It does seem weird though that Wendy would remark on them being so much “older” than her, when in reality, if she is 15, close to 16, and they are 17, close to 18, that really isn’t a big difference (but maybe I guess it is in gymnastics world).

Does anyone else just want to tweeze Jordan’s eyebrows? I think she would be very gorgeous if not for just those giant unkempt eyebrows.

I called Austin being dropped from the team either last week or the week before. That dude is a total asshole!

As much as I don’t like Jordan, I am really glad that she called out Wendy for her trash talking bs. Stupid little twat.

Last week Kelly said that she had “peaked” at worlds. Could it be that Austin has done the same thing, and that is why he was wanting to change is floor exercise? Whatevs I still am glad the ass is gone…for now I guess? Someone said they saw him in next weeks promo.

I thought this episode was kind of meh. Yes I liked that we were actually able to see into the girls “lives” but Rigo has got to go! Don’t like that creeper either!

Payson was the one that to Lauren, that now that she (lauren) had had sex, her body would start to change because of the hormones. Payson had gone through a growth spurt when she was out because of her back. Mrs Keeler had said that she was starting puberty. So I guess we can go with this on her and Rigo hooking up….gross!

Lastly, I did some “searching” on the actresses on this show. The actress that plays Kaylie actally did gymnastics. I read that the actress that plays Lauren was in a movie similar to MIOBI and she did her own stunts in that movie…The actress that plays Payson works out with the stunt doubles, so she does the “take offs and landings but not the actual moves…

SG-great recap, now you got me counting down the days for PPL! :)

You know one thing I like about this show but never really noticed until now – they NEVER talk about being in high school!!

They were all home schooled except for like…4 episodes in Season 2 where Payson went to a normal high school after her back injury. She didn’t fit in, went to her first high school party and was offered weed/beer (can’t remember which).

yeah kids that train hardcore can’t be in regular school. Regular school takes up like 8 hours a day plus homework and studying. They would not zero time to train. Homeschooling can be done in less than 3 hours.

I agree. First of all, I think Austin is only like 20/21 cause he and Carter had to be around the same age. And also, Payson and Rigo like you said considering how hard it was for them to get a first date. their one month was probably equivalent to most people’s 2 weeks. Nasty.

I am not a Kaylie/Austin fna, but I am an Austin fan so I really hope he isnt gone (which he isnt cause you see him in later promos). And, the girls are probably around 17/18 right now.

I still love Austin. He just could have handled his reaction alot better. But you have to understand his anger– his dreams are over now atleast for this Olympics, but then again he still has 2016.

Wendy actually stated that she is 15 but is turning 16 the day the team leaves for London. And the girls have to only be 17/18 but definetely not anywhere close to 19 because in season 2, Payson talks with her mom about how the Olympics are only less than 2 years away and she was 16 at that point. So if you do the math…

SG-Payson went to prom. Had Damon’s band play cause the other one flaked or something. But yes they also went to a kegger. That is where Kaylie did the keg stand, and Lauren lost her V to Kaylie’s bf, you know the douche that loved her so much…What is it with Kaylie and douchebag asshats for boyfriends?

HAHA yes! I remember that party with her stupid keg stand and Lauren and Carter sleeping together. I forgot about the band until you reminded me about it. Man…I am so sad this show is ending in 2 episodes…so many good memories.
