It’s not all about you Kaylie.
Last week, the girls are paired up together in order to help each other grow. Payson and Lauren end up forming a closer bond after being paired. Lauren tries to get Payson out of her funk by secretly setting her up on a date with Brad but Rigo intercepts and they really hit it off. Kelly and Kaylie grow closer after learning to trust each other even though Austin holds his doubts about Kelly’s sincerity. Austin has lost his endorsement with Kobalt because of his relationship with Kaylie so he tries to get the two of them to get endorsements as a golden couple. Lauren’s health continues to decline but she has yet to seek actual medical help. Oh and Kelly Parker is back!

Totally still in love with Sasha
Marcus from the NGO has come to observe the girls and speak with Coach Mac. The girls are all acting skiddish around the coach and I can’t tell if it’s because Marcus is around or because the Coach creeps them out. Payson is interviewing about being a golden athlete which makes Kaylie a little jealous as she is the current National Champion. Lauren points out that it’s probably because she has been too busy with Kelly and Austin to pay attention to what is going on. Payson’s interview goes well and she answers questions about how Sasha inspires her but gets a little flustered when asked about Coach Mac. She admits that she doesn’t know him very well but that he is a good coach. She happens to mention this while Coach and Marcus are standing within earshot distance.

Busted!
Payson gets asked about her kissing scandal with Sasha and how humiliating it must have been. **If you never watched the show, last season Coach Sasha basically lost his job when a video shot came out of him kissing Payson except it wasn’t what it seemed. Payson got so caught up in her feelings for Sasha who had been helping her recover from her back surgery that she kissed him. The photo still was shown to all the parents of the Rock girls and completely humiliated Payson who was just experiencing teenage feelings.** She mutters a no comment but maintains composure. Marcus expresses his concern that the girls aren’t connecting to Mac and wants to make sure he has a solid team for the Olympics because trials are only 6 weeks away.

Chalk Sniffing Contest!
Payson starts practice with the other girls and is chalking her hands for the uneven bars. She wishes she could escape the kiss scandal but people continue to bring it up and she fears it will always haunt her. Lauren says that she shouldn’t let it bother her and then Kelly walks up asking what they are talking about. Payson, not wanting to discuss it with Kelly, freezes up as do the other girls which causes Kelly to walk away rejected. Kaylie ends up leaving Payson and Lauren to spot Kelly which makes Lauren question whether Kaylie has just dissed them for Kelly or not. Mac and Marcus are still talking while Mac goes around criticizing the girls harshly for their mistakes. Marcus definitely looks less than confident.

Ice Bath Bonding Session
The girls are icing their various injuries and talking about Jordan whom they do not trust because they believe she is the narc and want to freeze her out. The girls discuss Coach Mac and Payson says that he has never coached girls gymnastics before but has a great track record with the boys team. Lauren says that he hasn’t complimented her once yet and the others feel he doesn’t drive or inspire them and that he is blocking their progress and they need to do something. They know they can’t fire him like a normal coach and Lauren offers her dad’s help to which they all shout no. They mention speaking to the NGO about him when Jordan walks up to ice her wounds. The girls shoo her away and Lauren tells her that she is dead to them. The girls say that is harsh but Lauren says it was needed. Payson gets a text from Rigo who just wanted to stop by and say hi but has to quickly go once his Big Ben alarm rings. I think I like this pair but it’s still too soon to tell but it’s always nice to see uber happy Payson.

Mom, make sure you DVR Revenge!
Kelly and Kaylie are talking and eating dinner and Kaylie lets it out that earlier when Kelly walked up on the girls they had been talking about Payson’s kissing scandal with Sasha. Kaylie thinks that it was Ellen Beals (president of the NGO) who released the picture but Kelly says she always thought it was an inside job from someone at the Rock. She never understood how someone outside of the gym could get a hold of the tape that was filmed inside of the gym of the kiss. She offers to call her mother who could find out with a few phone calls but Kaylie says to drop it as the truth could devastate Payson. Kaylie leaves to meet Austin and Kelly calls her mother to ask for a “favor”. I love sneaky Kelly!

Lauren has a hard time concentrating with Payson staring at her
Lauren is reading a magazine while Payson stares at her anxious to talk to her. Lauren finally acknowledges her and finds out that Payson wants to talk about boys which gets Lauren excited. Payson tells her not to patronize her but to be serious and then asks how does one know if a boy just wants to hook up or wants something more? Lauren says that if a boy wants to hook up he won’t put in much effort but if he wants something real he asks for a date in person. Just like that Rigo is at the door and Lauren excuses herself. He asks Payson out on a real date but their schedules are so conflicted that the date has to be scheduled for that night. My first thought wasn’t why is he stalking Payson or how obvious it was that he was at the door at that right moment…No my thought was how are boys allowed in the girl’s dorm rooms? I get that it’s a common room but the bedroom is right there and you don’t need a bed for some extra play. These girls are still teens and Wendy is only 16 so wouldn’t that break some kind of rules?

iDate Scheduling
Lauren runs into Jordan who tells her that pony tails and glitter don’t win medals. Lauren responds that selling out your teammates does and Jordan says you must be talking to Kaylie. I wonder when we will find out what REALLY happened between Kaylie and Jordan because this back and forth is annoying. I mean I dislike Jordan just because she has a huge chip on her shoulder and has perma stank face whenever she talks to anyone. Has she smiled like ever? Anyhoo, Jordan tells her that she has no idea what she is up against and that she promises to be on the team. She also says that you can’t trust Kaylie and she just deserts people after she has used them and Lauren will find that out soon. Um, Lauren already knows that because Kaylie deserted her once before when Lauren started dating Carter behind her back. Actually, I’m not sure what really brought them together again besides having to be team players to get a spot for Nationals. You know…for girls who have competed with each other for so many years they really don’t appear to be friendly to each other and it’s more of a convenience because they are in the same sport. The things this show makes you wonder about…

Payson talks to NGO Marcus
Payson stalks Marcus and catches him as he is about to enter his car in the rain. She explains that she is not a complainer and gives it her all but she is worried about Coach Mac and his abilities to get them to the Olympics. She doesn’t see any of her team mates advancing and believes that it’s hard to do so when all your coach does is yell at you. Marcus questions her not going to Coach Mac first but says that he appreciates her concerns and that the NGO has heard them. The girls are practicing when Kaylie has a change of heart and tells Kelly to contact her mom about the scandal. If they find out an answer they don’t like they decide to hide it from Payson but she has to know the truth because it almost tore the Rock apart and because she is really nosy.
Lauren and Payson are talking about Kelly and Kaylie’s new friendship while Lauren practices her beam routine. She starts to feel a bit dizzy and loses feeling in her hands but continues on until she faints right off the beam. Payson rushes over and Lauren blames it on her palms being sweaty…except she was out cold for a few minutes. If you just fell you get right back up and you wouldn’t be laying face down with your eyes closed. Lauren brushes it off as no big deal but Payson confronts her knowing it was more than just a slip. Lauren asks her why she cares so much and Payson says because friends do not keep secrets. That stuns Lauren for a second but she quickly replies that they don’t but there is no secret to tell. Payson is concerned but she can’t force it out of Lauren who walks away.

Totally wasn’t a slip.
Meanwhile Marcus is meeting with Mac and gives him 48 hours to get the problem with the girls fixed or he is fired. He warns that the girls are falling apart and that they are the commodity, not him. He doesn’t want to have to replace him so he hopes he succeeds. Mac gathers the girls and calls for an emergency meeting at his house that night. Payson doesn’t look so happy when Lauren says she guesses there won’t be a date tonight after all. Payson meets with Rigo who says that they can’t meet any other time because he is going out of town for a tournament the next day. He says there are no girls back home that understand his level of commitment and Payson agrees and adds that other athletes have no time to commit to a relationship. His alarm rings and they agree to London 2012…okay EMILY AND DAMON! That was the same stunt they tried to pull except Emily ended up pregnant and I guess with Damon but we will never know because Chelsea Hobbs doesn’t want to come back to Make it or Break it. UGH…Here’s hoping Chloe makes a surprise appearance with an update soon!

The new Emily and Damon, London 2012!!
Lauren is nervously trying to get dressed and Payson doesn’t understand why she is so concerned with her clothing when they are just going to their coach’s house. Lauren says she turns to fashion in times of nervousness and they talk about what the meeting could be about. Lauren thinks they could all be in trouble because they aren’t advancing or that Jordan has told the Coach about them talking about him while icing. Payson confesses that she went to the NGO about Coach Mac and Lauren is a little shocked but I think she’s kind of proud of Payson for also sticking up and doing something. She tells Payson she could be in trouble if Mac finds out that it was her that went behind his back. Kaylie and Kelly are also getting ready and about to walk out the door when Kelly receives a text from her mom. They find out that Lauren was the one who sent in the video and screenshots of Payson and Sasha.

Lauren doesn’t like my mom hair??
Mac and his wife are getting their house ready for the girls to come over and he explains that he is upset that someone went behind his back to the NGO. He tells her that none of the boys ever did something like this and she reminds him that he is now coaching girls and they are likely scared and lonely being away from their families. He reveals the reason he brought them to his house is because its more personal and he believes it will make them more receptive. Mac’s wife reminds him that he asked her out for 6 months before he got a yes to show that his persistence worked in making her like him but he reminds her that he only has 48 hours to turn them around. He doesn’t want to fail because he knows he has a great team in front of him and he would regret this failure for the rest of his life. She tells him that she doesn’t fail so he shouldn’t worry. Will someone please tell us what Mac’s wife’s name is? I really don’t think it’s been mentioned yet and I pay attention closely!

I’m totally fine except the 4 times I fainted this week.
The girls are lined up to get food from Mac’s Wife who asks Lauren how she is doing. She lies and says that now that her glycemic levels are low she has been doing much better. Payson, who is behind her, can’t hide her face knowing that what Lauren is saying is a lie and that she has not been doing so well. Kelly gets another text from her mom and it is the original email that Lauren sent to the NGO which solidifies she was behind the kissing scandal. They decide not to tell Payson because it would destroy her and her chances at making the Olympic team. As they walk back to the group they find Jordan has been spying on them. Jordan is seriously a major creeper and please don’t tell me this is a red herring move to throw us off of the real narc. If I didn’t believe it was her before I have to believe it now. This is definitely not helping Jordan’s image in my mind as I have yet to find a redeeming quality or ounce of care for her. Worst character addition besides Wendy.

Jordan is a total creeper…and waste of a character.
Coach has the girls gathered around the television while he criticizes videos of them and points out every little thing they do wrong. He then tells them they are going to bond together by watching Remember the Titans which is a tradition he had with the boys team. Coach’s wife knows this won’t work with the girls so she calls a side bar and explains that when they argue she always wants to know what is going on in Mac’s head while he just wants to know what he needs to do to fix the problem. The difference with the girls and the boys is that they need to know what the master plan is because they can’t see what he is thinking.
The girls turn the movie off and Lauren blames Jordan for screwing things up. Here it comes… Jordan then asks Kaylie about screwing things up and secrets and Kaylie plays dumb until Jordan says isn’t there something you want to share with your dear friend Payson. This prompts Kaylie to stand up and yell at Jordan that if she has a problem with her that is one thing but not to bring her friends into it. Jordan reiterates that Kaylie doesn’t have real friends and as they argue Payson gets up and says that if Kaylie is her friend she will tell her what Jordan is talking about. More arguing ensues until Kelly stands up and confesses that Lauren was the one who leaked the video of Payson and Sasha to the NGO. They all turn around to look at Lauren and Payson says she already knew and walks out. Seriously, NOT LIKING JORDAN! What was the whole point of that? I get that she might be mad that she gets left out but um that’s your own fault honey. Make more of an effort to not be such a bitch and be more humble especially since you shouldn’t even be on the team to begin with!

Busted!
Payson is outside on a bench when Lauren walks up and asks if Payson really knew it was her that leaked the video. Payson says she didn’t but she didn’t want to allow anyone else to embarrass her any further. She asks Lauren if she realizes how much that video hurt her and Lauren honestly answers that at the time, she had no idea. She knows that is horrible and she doesn’t expect forgiveness because it was a mean and selfish thing to do and probably the worst thing she ever did (yea..I think it ranks pretty high up there). She confesses that she didn’t do it with the intention of hurting Payson, she just freaked out over how close Summer and Sasha were getting and she didn’t want them to get back together. Lauren’s reason for sending the video in was to get Sasha away from Summer so she could finally have the mother she always wanted in Summer by having her marry her dad (Totally not kidding for you MIOBI newbs, she concocted a whole bunch of mess just to get Summer to be her mother).

Farrah Abraham Crying Face Class Graduate.
Payson doesn’t understand why Lauren didn’t get that the video had everything to do with her and that her life was practically ruined because of it. Lauren says she was scared because everyone in her life leaves her and Payson asks her if she understands why that is. As harsh as that seems, Payson has a point. Lauren does manipulative things in order to get people to like her and it never works out but she continues to do these things anyway. Lauren says she has grown and is a better person and asks if Payson can give her a chance to prove it but Payson says she can’t. Lauren leaves and Payson breaks down and cries. Lauren is then confronted by Kaylie who demands an explanation as the video could have destroyed the entire gym. Lauren says she doesn’t owe her one and that Kaylie doesn’t care about anyone but herself and Jordan was right about her using and throwing people away. Lauren doesn’t owe Kaylie anything because this whole thing has nothing to do with Kaylie. Kaylie says she thought she knew who her friends were and Lauren says she thought she knew Kaylie better but realized she doesn’t. Kelly comforts Kaylie who starts crying when she realizes how right Lauren is. Single white female much KP, you’re always just there…

It’s not about you Kaylie!
Coach is baffled by the girls and he says that the team is falling apart despite his best efforts. He knows that someone went behind his back and he’d like to know who. Lauren takes the fall for Payson and says she is the one who went to Marcus behind his back. Coach doesn’t understand what he is doing wrong so Kelly speaks up and says that Coach is a bully. He is too harsh and they do not trust him. He asks for a show of hands who believes that to be true and all the girls agree. Kaylie believes that he messes with their heads and Payson says he criticizes everything they do. Wendy adds that he doesn’t give positive feedback and that she needs it to be better. Payson says that he can’t bully them to be good he has to believe in them in order for them to be great.

We don’t trust you.
Coach says that he looks at them and sees all the strength, determination and perseverance they have and that all he feels is belief in them. He says that nothing he does is arbitrary and everything has a point and a reason. He paired the girls up because each has something that the other one needs and there is a method to his madness. Wendy needed maturity and Jordan needed some youthful exuberance. Lauren and Payson had been together for 6 years but neither ever trusted the other (um, did you not hear that massive fight earlier? I know your house isn’t that big). He says that he knows he isn’t expressive and they need a partner and a coach and he wants to be that for them all the way to London. He calls for a fresh start the next day at practice. I’m pretty sure Rigo is a stalker because he knocks on the door and asks for permission to speak with Payson. He is going out of town that night and couldn’t wait another week to kiss her and solidify their relationship. So….they kiss and he asks permission to change his social lounge status to which she agrees. Payson and Rigo are official, ya’ll!

PayGo is a go!
Back at the dorms that night, Payson asks Lauren why she took the fall for her speaking to the NGO and she says she didn’t want Payson to get into trouble. Payson then questions when Lauren started to care about anyone other than herself. Lauren says it was when she felt Payson and her were really starting to become friends. Payson counters that she really likes Lauren and that’s why the betrayal hurt so much. She says that if they are to be friends then they need to get all the secrets out because friends do not have lies. Payson then says if she wants a chance to be friends that Lauren needs to tell her what is going on with her. Lauren says that she isn’t sure but she knows something is wrong and she is scared but she doesn’t want to get kicked off the team before she finds out what it is. She has dreamed of going to the Olympics and she is 6 weeks away from that goal and urges Payson to keep the secret since she knows what it is like with her back injury. They agree to secrecy but they will find out what is wrong with Lauren together. Lauren asks if they are finally okay and Payson says no but they will be.

Payson contemplates trusting Lauren again.
The next day Coach is a completely different guy offering advice, smiling and complimenting the girls who are all happy. Marcus is pleased with the turn around and says that Coach shouldn’t let him down because they have 6 weeks until trials. Coach says he won’t let him down and they shake hands as they watch the girls practice. It looks like things are finally headed the right way but I’m sure that is only temporary.

New day, New Coach Mac
Gasmii! Just as I start to really enjoy Team Blonde (Payson and Lauren) they get torn apart by a past mistake. Should Payson hold the past against Lauren or should she forgive her? Team Brunette is sort of on my nerves because as much as I like Kelly I can’t help but feel that she is orchestrating this divide between the girls for her own gain. It’s all single white female-ish to me because she just seems to always be there for Kaylie even though she previously almost destroyed her career. Tactics, not people, change right? Are you guys warming up to Jordan and Wendy or are they just not cutting it for you? I really don’t like either one at this point. Are you liking Payson and Stalker Rigo (PayGo?) or is she jumping in way too soon after breaking up with Max? Was Austin hiding somewhere doing drugs? More importantly, WHAT DOES LAUREN HAVE? I hope we finally find out next episode because the suspense you guys!!
Let me know what you thought about this episode in the comments and check out last week’s recap here!
If you like it, spread it!:

Okay, maybe there is something I don’t remember from last season or don’t understand how Olympic athletes/teams are selected. I thought the main plot from last season was making the USA gymnastic team through a lot of different meets/events. Not everyone makes it and it is tough to be selected and/or win. Why is Jordan even in contention for going to London?? She just showed up at the ‘training center’ and forced her way onto the team. That can’t be the way things are done.
Rigo’s acting is so awful but Payson and Rigo are cute together so I hope he sticks around.
Mac’s wife’s name is Annie.
I’m guessing Lauren has leukemia. (Is there some kind of betting pool on this?)
No pool yet but I’m not sure about leukemia because they seem to be focusing on her diet and eating habits as well as dizziness and hand numbing which go with diabetes…but we will find out in a few days!
@brittany – Thanks…now when did they say it?! lol
I’m foggy on this but I believe the first season was trying to make nationals as a team and then it was placing at worlds in season two as individuals to get spots for the Olympics? I don’t understand how Jordan managed to get in either especially since she apparently hadn’t been legit training for the past 4 years.
Plus, I am prettttty sure that when Kaylie ran off to the lake camp they mentioned that the three of them had been going there for years before they moved up to the Rock so how did she have time to go some random ass camp and meet Jordan for a few years? As far as I could tell they have almost always been at either the Rock together or that summer lake camp.
I know this season was rushed but fans noticed this stuff!
Kaylie said she met Jordan and Rythmic Gymnastics camp, and went there for 4 summers before she decided to move to Artistic Gymnastics…
I have spent the past few nights getting caught up on this show…I still hate Lauren, but I am glad that Payson knows! Sheesh! Payson can’t catch a break in they guy department!! Totally did not see the Max is bi storyline coming. Now I could maybe by into the Max is gay, and so is that tool that Kaylie is dating! Loved the look on her face when He told all of them that they had all kissed Max. Yes I know I am a few recaps behind, but WhatEvs!!
Don’t like Jordan either! I think she is a waste of time. I think that Strawberry short cake is the mole. She was the one that saw the girls out trying to steal the statue from the wrestling team.
Ok, So yes, I just watched the last 3 epis today, and the last epi of last season-Rio. So am I to assume that Payson does not know about the Stanford Rep?
Anyone wanna bet on how Jordan really got her “Gypsy ass” as KP called her, into the training camp?….I am gonna go with KP’s mom. Her mom was all over her ass about Kaylie, and how KP needed to get into all the girls heads….I have a feeling that something is going to happen and Lauren isn’t going to make it…Kaylie is going to have a relapse and it will be Payson, KP and Jordan….IDK I know we are only onto the 4th episode now.
I miss Damon, he was a looker
So was Razor in his own nerdy/stoner way
Mac’ss wife = Annie. He says it in their first scene together in this episode.
If you blink or sneeze, you miss it
In the scene when Coach Mac is talking with his wife prior to the dinner with the girls, while moving the chairs around, he says, “This is getting serious, Annie.”
