” I bet Madison felt like shit watching what actually happened…”
And even more so when he realizes how much JA did not want to share that listing and how much it would have irked JA (who, let’s be honest, would be the one to close the final sale, not Heather) to know that 25% of his commission would just be handed over to Madison. It turns out that Madison, if he had kept Heather on, would be getting the free benefit of JA’s expert hand-holding of his otherwise incompetent agent.
Splain som’thin to me, somebody. What difference did it make to Tim if the people making the full-price offer didn’t have strong financial statements? Either they get the loan or they don’t — right? Or is it that he and his partner can’t wait around to see if the buyer gets the loan? I don’t see the problem.
PPhilly, I hope you are feeling better today. Two recaps and a kidney stone do not make for a happy ‘capper. But you’re doing a great job, even if some of the humor is a little goofy because of the pills (they aren’t called goofy pills for nothing).
And to top it off, pix of a dog, a baby, and a kitty. Doesn’t get any better’n that! I’m in on the non-dream house, BTW.
Does a kidney stone have to be above a certain size before a patient is offered lithotripsy? Your stone problem reminded me of a documentary I saw on surgical procedures 200 years ago when there were no pain killers to speak of. They said the worst operation anyone could endure was “digging for stones.” Yikes!!!!
@crankyguy: Maybe it has something to do with the potential buyer possibly missing a payment. I’m not 100% sure.
@snowshoecat: Sadly, not better at all. I’m heading back to the ER later today because I can’t even take a sip of water without being in terrible pain. That makes it hard to take the medicine. I promise you all much better recaps next week when I’m (hopefully) back to normal.
I liked that Mikey was making lemonade – what I didn’t like is that he kept tasting it and putting the same spoon BACK into the lemonade!! Sorry – pet peeve. Hope you feel better PP!
Hope you’re feeling better, Pope!
Just as an aside, Paul Michael Glaser (Starsky) looks faaabulous with pinky rings. (yes rings, he wore 2).
You know, the whole thing with Madison & Heather is iffy on both sides. Yes, Heather absolutely should’ve stepped outside the room to check with Madison before she agreed to the co-list.
AND, Madison has a point about her having access to his clients, while dating Josh, who IS a competitor.
However…. him going to the broker’s open was pure producer b*s. He acted like a middle school-er part of the time “Was it worth it?” Totally uncalled for and unacceptable in the business world.
And they both should’ve stepped outside for this talk. You don’t have a talk like that in the home you’re trying to sell. It makes both of you AND the broker listing (Josh A) look unprofessional.
Thank GOD for Josh F, Colton & Edith. (And I would’ve continued to look, as well. Not sure why Gabby waited so long in the first place, but I wasn’t fond of the one she had to “settle” for.)
Love the caption..”most people aren’t this happy to be a slut”..I believe this is true except for cutie Madison and slutty Heather…I bet that girl has been called ( and has been)a slut since she was in 6th grade! Loved your recap since I missed the show and waiting for the rerun..thanks for another great recap and feel better……….
hopping for a new spin off Josh and Edith’s view of life!
BTW: Slutty Big Nose, Bitchy Heather is no prize..and how stupid is JA to think she is or that Madison would even be interested in her if he wasn’tgay ???
Iam sure that Josh was the kid that got made fun of and beat up in high school( just gussing , but 99.9% sure this is true) ,.but Heather is no beauty from the neck up ..in fact her nose could be a registered wepon as well as her bitchy personality!! These two L’s are made for each other…and not even close to Madison or Josh’s league.
Crankyguy I am going to assume Tim and Tom want to save their reputation and not be hated by the neighborhood. Selling that low may hurt property values in the neighborhood. God forbid the folks offering full price fall behind and the house goes into foreclosure.
Random, listening to Jay Mohr’s podcast and he was discussing being broke and his divorce. He mentioned how upset his neighbors got with him in W. Hollywood because he sold his house via short sale.
The banking regulations in Cali are different than the rest of the country, go figure. Having recently purchased real estate in SoCal, the banks are very hesitant to lend based on having “just enough” to cover the closing costs and down payment. Banks here are afraid if any thing major goes wrong with the house, the owner can’t cover costs to repair, and walks away. The banks want to see what they call “money on the books” and want to see that it’s been around a while and even where it came from.
@labowner, I guess that makes sense for somebody who is really, really conscientious, but if I were selling a house, I would just rely on the bank to do the vetting of a potential buyer. If the lender makes the loan, then it’s their problem as far as I am concerned. Besides, the flippers have already done their part in raising the neighborhood standards by fixing up a rundown house, so if I were them, I would be giving a big “screw you” to any neighbors who didn’t like to whom I sold the house.
@caligal, I think we are getting somewhere. I’m now guessing that T&T told JA that the full-price offer was no good because they have about zero expectation that the buyer will be able to get the loan. Still, I thought they were a little harsh to JA since he can’t make good offers appear out of thin air.
Crankyguy it’s a small world and people talk. You have no idea how easy it is for one person to throw off your construction time line. Oh crap it’s those flippers and the last home they sold was way under priced for the neighborhood, let’s call the building department and file a complaint. For all we know they live in West Hollywood and these are their neighbors. Very easy to stop or hold off construction in California where every nut jobs opinion matters.
@labowner, I see what you mean since I was watching a house flipping show on some other channel that took place in and around Boston. Massachusetts might even be worse than California when it comes to countless rules and regulations that some disgruntled neighbor can use to report real or imagined infractions to various meddling bureaucrats. On that show (I forget the name and the channel) just such an asshole neighbor was causing the flippers all kinds of grief, delays, and expense — it was unbelievable.
@Featherhead: I didn’t notice that! It’s a good thing too. I hate that almost as much as I hate blue suits with black shoes. It’s the man reason I’ve always hated Paula Deen.
@hutchlover: No man like JA looks good with a pinky ring. The douche just tarnishes it.
@caligal: Thanks for the insider info on SoCal real estate.
@crankyguy: I didn’t want to leave you out, but I didn’t want to just repeat myself. So, hi!!! *Wave.*
@Cranky Guy – I think the show you’re talking about is Flipping Out – Boston on A&E (they have three – Boston, CT, and TX)
Thank you for the recaps Pope, hope you feel a lot better stat! There used to be an agent named Chad who left 2 seasons ago and he and JF would go at it like Madison and JA. JF is much more tolerable without Chad, that guy was the. worst.
Last season I believe JA explained that Mikey is limited in what he can say and do since he isn’t licensed yet. I think he’s able to disclose property facts like the price, square footage, and property acreage…stuff you’d see on a flyer, but I’m not sure if he can disclose how much was put into the house or if JA even wants him to handle that. When he refers people to JA I think it’s because that is what JA has ordered Mikey to do.
I remember JF as being a very immature douche in the first season. He kinda bullied Chad a lot, although “bullied” is too strong of a term — it was more like a continuous impish aggravation. JF is much different now than he was a few years ago.
did anyone notice Grandma Edith’s shoes were on the wrong feet?
