God Bless America!

God Bless America!

It’s America Week! Finally, we give kudos to out country the only way we know how, by having unknowns and has-beens take the dance floor in overly bedazzled outfits.

What better way to pay tribute to America, than by dancing traditional American dances like, the samba, the Viennese Waltz and the rumba.

This episode, Chris Jericho has developed a complex in trying to please Len, Ralph Macchio is a real cowboy and Karina is a “whore”**, Petra is so happy to pretend she’s American that she can’t stop bouncing, Romeo is just trying to out-dance Master P, Hines had trouble being sexy, Kirstie tries to win the audience over with bait: John Travolta, Kendra dances the 1000th dance of the show and Chelsea dances to a Disney baby song.

Does anyone want to explain to the producers that “American Woman” isn’t a patriotic song? Except maybe to Canadians? I mean “American Woman…stay away from me,” is the first line.

Thank you Vallegirl! This gives me even more to add to my strongly worded letter to the ABC executives about their definition of “classical music” last week.

But, but…it has the word “American” in it, so it must be a patriotic song. Right?

I tire of the theme shows – can’t they just dance to music appropriate for the dance they are doing?

People also always forget that “American Woman” was written by a CANADIAN band. I don’t really think it’s a complimentary song…
