MiniCap: Alcatraz

Don’t go getting too attached to THIS handsome fella…

Yes indeed, it’s yet another True Blood alumnus…you may remember the gentleman above as Eggs, Tara’s ill-fated beau – this dude just can’t catch a break. Get it? Eggs, break – nyuck, nyuck, nyuck. (sorry)

Well, Gasmii – if you’re anything like me, you’ve been hoping that our dear Alcatraz would eventually get around to giving us an episode that was more centered on the over-arcing series mystery, rather than the typical ‘baddie of the week’ formula. And last night, we got it. Sort of.

Yes, there was still a procedural-ish bad guy of the week – in this case one Paxton Petty, a Korean War vet with a fondness for using landmines to blow the shit out of people. Fun Fact! Did you know that there are real-life amputees in Hollywood that are kept in the files of casting directors to be used in situations just like this? Hence, that dude you saw lying on the ground, holding his bloody leg stump? Probably an actual amputee with a little corn syrup splattered on for effect. Hooray!

Anywhoo, although we did get plenty of Mr. Boom-Boom Man, we also got an eyeful of important Alcatraz back story – including some all-important footage of Emerson Hauser as a young dude. Who, as I have been railing on and on about for ages, does indeed seem to hold a candle for dear comatose Lucy Banarjee nee Sangupta.

It seems that Hauser wasn’t really an Alcatraz guard – he was an SFPD officer who regularly transferred criminals out to the Rock. I guess that’s why he doesn’t know all of the bad guys from the past, or why the reappeared guard Guy Hastings had no clue who he was.

This episode took time to answer a bunch of the questions we’ve all been tossing around for the past month or so, which was a welcome change…who knows, Gasmii – maybe someone over at Fox is actually checking in on our little posts every now and again! So make sure to keep voicing all of your concerns/questions/theories in the comments just in case!!

Come on back in a couple of days for the full recap, and in the meantime, catch up with last week’s episode recap here! Thanks as always, and see you cats soon!

Mrs. Snarklesbee chose her moniker because she thought it made her sound A) British, B) adorably elderly, and C) married - only one of which is actually true. Revel in the mystery.

As she grew up in an area where there wasn't much to do outside of watching TV or shooting BB guns at trees, she developed a love for the entertainment industry at an early age and vowed to one day be a part of it, or at least sit on the sidelines making fun of it. But she's still pretty stellar with that BB gun, so there's always a PLAN B - PROFESSIONAL BB GUN SHOOTER PERSON.

Mrs. Snarklesbee loves her dog, long walks on the beach, and making crazy person faces at a-hole drivers in Los Angeles in an attempt to 'scare them into decency.' Because that works, right? RIGHT?!? Things she hates include bagging her own groceries, Hollywood remaking ANYTHING, and a-hole drivers in Los Angeles.

Mrs. S, I hope you don’t mean what I’m afraid you mean about not getting attached to the hunk in the picture. *sigh*

I knew it from the minute he showed up on screen and Madsen greeted him like her college sweetheart. Sad though…he was purty, for one thing…
