MiniCap: Alcatraz

See why I call her ‘half-pint?’

Seriously…it’s amazing that her tiny hand can even wrap around that glass.

Hey guys! Well, we’re winding down to the season finale of Alcatraz…or maybe I should say ‘winding UP,’ since it looks like the producers are starting to chuck some serious revelations our way.

Last night’s episode – ‘Webb Porter’ – was our last show before the grand two-part season finale next week, which looks like it’s gonna be a doozy…are we REALLY gonna find out the secret of Alcatraz?? And does that mean the show won’t be back for a second season??

Plenty of doors have already been opened for us, such as Doc and Rebecca FINALLY learning that Lucy is a ’63 – was anyone else overwhelmingly frustrated when it looked like they weren’t going to watch that film reel from the music room? I was so freaking relieved when it came back at the end of the episode.

And it looks like dear old Bend it Like Beckham herself is finally awake after spending the majority of 2012 in a coma – I cannot WAIT for the major convo that’s gonna ensue between her and the dynamic duo – after all, Lucy’s gotta be holding some major cards in her hands, am I right?

Okay, okay, I guess I should mention SOMETHING about Webb Porter, the freaky freak with a genius IQ and a bit of a hair fetish – but MAN can that dude play a mean violin solo! And the actor really looked like he was playing, so either the casting department scored big when they found a talented actor who also happened to be an accomplished violin player, or the guy is a crazy fast learner, or the show has truly excelled at visual manipulation and CG.

And of course, Webb Porter wasn’t NEARLY as important for his dastardly crimes as he was for his connection to Lucy…and hey, wasn’t it sweet (and a little weird) to see young Hauser and Lucy gettin’ all romantical back in 1960?

Come back in a day or two for the full recap, and in the meantime, if you’d like to get caught up on past Alcatraz recaps, you can find them all right here. Thanks!

Mrs. Snarklesbee chose her moniker because she thought it made her sound A) British, B) adorably elderly, and C) married - only one of which is actually true. Revel in the mystery.

As she grew up in an area where there wasn't much to do outside of watching TV or shooting BB guns at trees, she developed a love for the entertainment industry at an early age and vowed to one day be a part of it, or at least sit on the sidelines making fun of it. But she's still pretty stellar with that BB gun, so there's always a PLAN B - PROFESSIONAL BB GUN SHOOTER PERSON.

Mrs. Snarklesbee loves her dog, long walks on the beach, and making crazy person faces at a-hole drivers in Los Angeles in an attempt to 'scare them into decency.' Because that works, right? RIGHT?!? Things she hates include bagging her own groceries, Hollywood remaking ANYTHING, and a-hole drivers in Los Angeles.

So many questions….Who was that cop Madsen was hanging out with? Were they talking about Madsen’s fiance or something (I didn’t quite catch that)? Is the fiance the mystery guy in that cast photo? Will Lucy come back all crazy and aggressive?

Can’t wait for the full writeup!

I love that Porter told Lucy that he hoped to someday be able to repay her for all she’d done for him…and 50 years later, he does (well, unless Lucy comes back all crazy, like Jimmy mentioned lol).

@JimmyT, originally they had a fiancé cast for her, but cut him out. I never read an official explanation why.

@ChefPants & @JimmyT, I have it from pretty reliable sources that his departure wasn’t anything too dramatic – the writers/producers just didn’t really know what to do with the character after the show went through some major re-hauls early on, so the part sort of became more and more unnecessary…eventually the actor left to pursue other work. Sounds like it was a totally amicable split. XO :)
