Minicap: Around the World in 80 Plates

After last week’s education in the finer points of English gastropub delights, the show classes things up significantly by traveling to Lyon, France to explore its particular type of cuisine. The two teams are tested on their knowledge of cheeses, wines, and the finer points of Lyonnaise cooking including the mysterious quenelle.

Thank GOD, Cheven is there to lead the Black team in all things Lyonnaise. He claims to be an expert in both cheese AND wine, which would be fantastic if, you know, he really was an expert in cheese and wine. Oh and he sucks at sheep herding too.  I can’t believe anyone could be worse than a person named Nookie.  

Winning the prize for most annoyingly outspoken on the Red team is Jenna, who has that special talent of being both condescending and clueless at the same time. She also claims to be a cheese expert, yet – surprise! – isn’t.  Unfortunately she is the only one who speaks a bit of le Francais so we have to listen to her quite a bit. Oh mon dieu!

I won’t spoil the outcome for those who missed the show last night. Only 7,000 more chances to catch the episode before my full recap is posted in the next couple days!
