MiniCap: Being Human

This won’t help the hospital’s rating.

This week’s theme is about how both monsters and humans can leave a path of destruction in their wake but at least humans feel pangs of guilt and remorse. And season 2 of Being Human is ready to start the second act of its “Temptation is a Beast” theme.

Josh and Nora are getting ready for another full moon and, once again, Josh has a really bad idea that comes from a good place. This time, after being spooked by how easily Nora took to killing the human-adjacent Heggeman, Josh has rented adjacent storage units for them to change. Nora is understandably repulsed by this but is willing to go along with Josh until Josh’s ex, Julia, turns out to be Aidan’s current Julia and we see that Nora may not have the same scientific detachment from the wolf that Josh has. Especially after Julia pretends to want to help Nora by shit-talking Josh. Because bitter exes are always the best and most subjective source of information about your boyfriend.

Aidan’s still trying to get along by stealing the hospital’s blood supply, boning Julia and living close to a normal human life until he finds out Julia is Josh’s ex and the hospital locked the blood supply because he was drinking half of it on his own. He still thinks that because he’s 257 years old he doesn’t need any help so he tries to go cold turkey on both counts with disastrous results because celibacy and hunger literally leads Aidan to a very weird place.

And Sally. Sally gets a very real, very creepy storyline. After visiting with Josh and Aidan at the hospital, she wanders over to the nursery to see all the new babies that will never be hers. Until a special nurse, Zoe, sees her and shoos her over to the rest of the ghosts. Turns out Zoe had a run in with a ghost while she was a baby and has been able to see them ever since. And she’s using this special gift of hers to help ghosts “reincarnate” into the bodies of sickly babies. Yes, she’s the human in this equation.

Sally, as is her wont, decides that she absolutely, positively MUST reincarnate and reincarnate NOW. Zoe’s not so sure but when she learns that Sally passed up her door to save her roommate she kinda thinks maybe Sally’s not so bad, until she realizes that Sally probably is a bad fit. Which leads Sally to the most Sally course of action with the most Sally-like result.

Wow, I totally missed the whole “Julia” thing until it was brought out in this episode. Should make for a juicy storyline.

I feel just like that picture of Aiden.

But I’ve only had two margaritas. Enough for me.

I may need AA. Like Aiden needs BA–Blood Anonymous.
