MiniCap: Being Human

Sorry, dude. This is the closest I ever get to sincere.

So, what happened on Being Human this week…Hmmm. Wonder what happened.

Well, Josh was facing the repercussions of Nora’s indiscretions from last week when no one could find her but the cops were looking. The twins reminded us why we all hate rich people and find twins creepy. Josh also learns just how far he is willing to go to protect the ones he loves, which, for a nervous, guilt-ridden, well-heeled, well-educated, nice, Jewish boy from Ithaca, was pretty far. And he got help from a highly unlikely source wearing way too much lip gloss for her station in life.

Umm…what else happened? Tragedy struck Sally and little by little she’s learning just how unidyllic her idyllic life was. It was very sad and we learn that Mother might not be the only lousy mother our roommates had to live with. At least Josh had a good mom.

I know something else happened. Well, something other than Henry being back and organizing the orphans. Well, he claims he was just teaching them how to survive and got all boo-hooey about how Aidan abandoned him when he was still a very young vampire.  We learn a little about how and when Henry was made and that Aidan was always, even at his most ruthless, kind of emo. So  it’s a good song and dance that pushes all of Aidan’s Mr. Softy buttons, except when he’s beating the crap out of Henry because, oops, did Henry forget to mention he brought a stake to their meeting.

But…wait, now I remember: MARK FREAKING PELLEGRINO!! Yes, Bishop was back and even as an hallucination in a sweater vest, he’s still the awesomest, coolest, most menacing vampire. Love, you. Miss you. Hope Aidan keeps spiraling out of control so we can see you again real soon. Kisses.

I watched a Being Human UK marathon on the weekend (series 3), so now I’m getting all the storylines messed up! When you said at least Josh had a good mother, my mind went to the UK storyline in which George (UK version of Josh) finds out that his parents’ marriage was kind of like what we found out Sally’s parents’ marriage was, and it took me a second to remember it’s from a totally different show and story line!

Having watched so much of the UK version in one setting, I have to say…UK version of Aidan (his name is Mitchell) is much hotter! And I find him much more alluring as well. UK version of Sally (Annie) is still flakey, but she’s much more selfless, and UK version of Josh (the aforementioned George) is funnier, but it’s a toss-up as to who is cuter. American Josh definitely makes the better puppy-dog eyes though. And I love the UK version of Nora (Nina). The characters all seem to be just a little more mature and grounded than the US characters — although they’re still all pretty messed up! I’ll still watch both though. I’m intrigued by the return of Bishop and I whether it will play out…I’m pretty sure I know how the return of the guy Aidan sired will turn out, though. If it turns out well for either of them, I will be shocked.
