Minicap: Bethenny Ever After

This was a schizophrenic episode in a biiiiiig way.  There’s a series of hilarious moments showcasing Bethenny’s zany side – she and Julie put on some platinum blond wigs and stalk Cookie at the dog park (no joke, no exaggeration), she takes her entire female staff and Dwayne, to a self-defense class and winds up punching herself in the face (my money was on Julie), she goes shopping with Mariette and makes sex jokes until Mariette looks like she wants to bitchslap Bethenny into a sconce, and finally, she breaks out the roller skates and does what EVERYONE wants to do in a new empty apartment with hardwood floors – roller skates.

On the flip side, Bethenny discovers that her mother, Bernadette, has sold a story to Star Magazine accusing Bethenny of being materialistic, selfish and on her way to a divorce.  What’s really disturbing is that Bethenny hasn’t, from what the episode implies, had a relationship/seen her mother since she was 14.  Also, in therapy, we discover that Bernadette was beaten quite often by one of her husbands and that Bethenny was apparently forced to watch.  This is why I say schizophrenic – this kind of revelation has no place next to apartment roller derby.  My heart really goes out to Bethenny on this one, though.  Really does.

    I certainly hope its nonsense because I like them together! I think he grounds her and she lightens him up.

    Her “rebuttal tweet” didn’t sound promising to me. They all use terms like “working on it” and “committed to my marriage” when they’re splitting up. I so hope it isn’t the case too, though.
