   Brooke taking voice lessons earlier in the season foreshadowed her recording a song. I think that meeting with MSA was also meant to set up something later. I wonder where they’re going with that.

   I think Brooke wants to move away from dance and more into singing/pop star type stuff. She looked happy singing and not so happy dancing.

   This was actually a mostly fight and drama free episode, did you guys notice that? Compared to the normal thing?

   Did Jabby tell Mac and Maddie that the other girls were not their friends and after high school they would never see them again and only she is their true friend?? I watch that and thought what a piece of work. Undermining their childhood friendships. Mac is so young and can not think about life after high school. If I was their mom I would be very concerned about this relationship.

   Wtf is with the moms outfits….Jill was wearing a blue shimmery prom style dress. They alllllll are in sundresses 100% of the time now. It’s funky and what mom dresses like that…it shows the dramatic change being a reality “star” can have..and so quickly. The one particularly freaking me out is Kelly. She is starting to look like tan mom…with her light hair and light eyes and then burnt sienna toned skin. Maybe if she made her hair dark? I don’t know the appearance is jarring and frightening and not at all pretty. I worry stardom is to much for Kelly. Shes changing colour and seems to be having a nervous breakdown. Also for how much time these women spend at the studio..to spend your free time at a tanning salon and not with your family or getting important things done seems foolish.

   Isn’t Kenzie now the same age that Maddie was when she started the show? why are they still doing super cutsey numbers? Her pigtails in the talking heads seem stupid to me now. IT doesn’t seem the natural progression of things. Shes getting to be a big girl and it seems like they’re holding her in the baby spot to keep up cuteness. It’s lik ewhen Cindy Brady was 14 and still in those silly pigtails. Let kids grow up.. all the stages are cool. Don’t skip awesome kid stages because you can’t handle giving up the one before.

   Brooke doesn’t usually look big to me but she looked womanly during her dance. She deserves to be allowed to dance with girls her own age..does she get to do that? I get this team is “better” because its on tv but I feel bad because I wouldn’t want to do that as a teenager.

   Those girls were brookes back up singers? I wondered why the recording sounded like Brooke sang it 50 times and was autotuned right out of the number..because it was 50 little girl voices autotuned out of the number. I’ve tried to think of a non critical way to talk about the song but…I just don’t have it in me. . Brooke is extra extra beautiful and i would love to see her do acting if she is not into dance but her voice isn’t a strong voice to me. I loved that Kelly said that she hoped what would come out of it was that all the girls would have a fun day. I think that was perfect

   Here is the group dance, they didn’t show it this week. I guess they didn’t have enough time with all the solos. Anyway, it’s really cute, and Brandon (Brooke’s former “boyfriend” from season one) is in it. There are videos of Chloe and Paige’s solos, too, which I’ll post on the full recap.

   Thanks for posting Gwen. I noticed them in those costumes and wondered what that was about.

   Very cute costumes and theme for that dance and I loved the kick line. The dance itself was kinda sloppy with the synchronicity and needed work.

   It’s nice to see that group dance finally. I remember the costume from the recital episode, so it’s obviously not a new dance. It’s funny that they can completely edit Brandon out of the episode. I guess it’s that easy for them to manipulate things when filming and editing.

   Lifetime’s website has some footage of the group number that didn’t make the show. They also have the “music video” Abby shot and a nice video of Abby comforting Paige after her solo.

    Thanks for posting the group dance. Loved it! Wish they would have shown it on T.V. I just looked up results for that (not a spoiler, since this was yesterdays episode), and they came in 3rd place, but they were in the teen category- I guess because Brandon and Brooke were in it and that brought the age level up..? I don’t know. Maybe they didn’t want to show Abby getting 3rd place or something, or they just ran out of time. I think it was cute though.

    I feel like I say this every week, but I think that it’s so annoying that Christi and Kelly seem to always gang up on Melissa. If Maddie gets a special part they both complain, when Maddie is upset they complain, when their girls have multiple dances, they complain…. Ugh… Kelly was saying that Paid didn’t get many solos, maybe it’s because she always pulls them 1/2 the time so it doesn’t feel like it? Hopefully this is more for the camera than in real life.

    It was tactless calling Maddie out for crying like there was something wrong with it. The girls have a lot of pressure on them and have shed tears for less.

    It annoys me the way they sometimes edit the mom’s interview complaints. Like interrupting Chloe’s solo with Christi whining about something completely irrelevant. It’s unnecessary and detracts from the performance.

    not to be rude but is Melissa prego???
    ok…that was rude no matter how i say it but she looked a little on the heavey side…like she had a muffin in the oven…or the rabbit died…or the stock was coming..!!!
    it would make a great part of the show..shes having a married man baby…poor brooke..forced to dance with those little kids..yes..poor makenzie will be in pig tails until she’s 50yrs old..

    @alicecarroll- i thought the same exact thing…she looked a little bigger to me…Idk if it was the empire cut of ot the one dress she was wearing but I totally wondered if she is preggo during the episode!

    @Elle (4)- I totally agree with the ridiculous outfits. Get a little prospecitive, Moms. You are sitting for 12 hours in a dance studio. No way I would get all gussied up to that extreme every day. Sure, I’d put on makeup and look presentable, but the quasi-prom dresses, no way!

    Did you see when Abby called them into the studio for the first time in the beginning of the episode, Melissa looked down at the ground for her “mark”, and then posed like she was about to have her picture taken on the red carpet? It happens really quickly, but watch again. It’s hysterical.

    I think Mackenzie would do really well in commercials, but this show has ruined her chances for the time being. No business would want her as their spokesperson or advertising their product- she is too recognizable from the show.

    Anyone else recognize the music producer who was there for the recording of Brooke’s song? None other than the director of Lux’s music video from the Season 1 Finale- Seven! Unless there are a lot of men in the music industry named Seven, Lifetime seems to have tapped the same guy.

    Kenzie’s pigtails were ridiculous this episode, especially in the talking heads. They looked like they were taking over her entire head! Almost as bad as her monstrous Snooki bump-it in the talking heads a few weeks ago. Someone get this kid a better stylist!!!

    Kelly’s appearance is seriously freaking me out lately. Her huge buggy eyes, the orange-glo tan, the immovable forehead, her ridiculously white teeth. She is reminding me of Kate Gosselin’s transformation… I know the other women have started dressing like Real Housewives, but Kelly looks scary. And of all the women, I have the least sympathy for Kelly… they need to come up with another storyline for her. This constant, “My kids never get solos!” is as stale as month-old bread.

    I was not crazy about Kendall’s solo outfit… I loved Paige’s however. The sleeves on Mackenzie’s solo costume looked like extra heads when she was on stage… I think Nia was totally robbed out of a trophy. If any of these kids has the “it” factor on stage, it’s her. Abby needs to give her a routine that’s a little more competitive.

    I actually liked Jill’s old hair better. Her blond locks make her look too old. Kelly needs to pull Brooke out of dance and let her pursue singing. She also needs to sign Paige up for some more ballet classes or technique because it seems as though all she does is acro. I personally liked mackenzie’s pigtails. They were pretty cute.

    Show is getting nuts. The reunion is a two-parter and then Abby is having a dancing show where she is the head judge for a Joffrey scholarship! Anddddddd…the moms of the competing dancers will be profiled in some way?

    I guess I am behind the times on this news!

    Just watched the flight attendant group dance- very cute, but Brandon is too old to be dancing with them! It looked like creepy old guy dancing with underage flight attendants, and then Brooke got on top of him a little. It totally creeped me out!

    I thought the flight attendant video was cute. Actually Brandon is NOT that much older than Brooke. She is going on5 (will be 15 in January) and I think that Brandon just recently turned 16. I think people forget, or don’t realize, that Brooke is quite a bit older than the other girls. When we see Payton, it’s like, “oh she is so OLD and doesn’t fit it,” but that is because she is tall (which I can relate to, since I’m very tall and people always thought I was older), but actually Payton and Brooke are the same age- only a few months apart- but because Brooke is so short, she does “fit in” more with the group because she is about the same size.

    I wouldnt put it past Melissa to snag her man the old fashion way…but really some advice if he would leave his CURRENT wife and kids for you, he damn sure wont speed up the divorce if your prego Mel.

    I don’t think she’s pregnant. She has said numerous times that she isn’t, and I think she’s around 45 or 46 years old, so probably not that easy to get pregnant.. I think she just carries her weight in the middle, or in a way that makes her look that way- or maybe it’s just the outfits she wears.. She does look like she’s put some weight on though, since season 1 that is.

    Didn’t they do Melissa’s 40th birthday last season? When Cathy convinced them that what they really needed was Botox? If so, she’s probably still in her child-bearing years. She did look positively preggers this episode. That scene where she sneaks the girls off to the talent agency, I swear she gets up out of her chair “belly first” the way pregnant ladies do (at least the way I did it) and practically waddles out of the studio. I’ve heard the rumors before but I never noticed it myself until now. I vote that she is.

    No, that was not Melissa last year turning 40. That was Kelly! Melissa is a little bit older than Kelly.

    I’m really getting sick of Christy & Kelly. I’m so over the “Mean Girls” thing, it’s just not funny anymore. All the whining & excuses are so beyond ridiculous. Maddie is by far the most talented dancer, they just need to get over it. And Kelly is actually starting to scare me. She has that “tan mom on tequila” look. Reality TV may have another victim…. Smh

    @HipPopCoach– I’m sorry, but I totally have to disagree with your comment that “Maddie is by far the most talented dancer.” I SO DISAGREE!! She is a great little dancer, yes, but I think Chloe is by far the most talented and has the most POTENTIAL of actually becoming a dancer when she grows up. As far as the Christy and Kelly comment, yeah, I agree with you there. I mean, they have a point- it IS true that Maddie is totally the favorite, gets the best choreography, etc.., but they’ve said it all before and nothing has changed, so no point going on and on about it. Obviously Abby doesn’t give a shit about your kid, so just let it go and take your kids to someone who will let them shine and actually DOES care about your child and is there to teach them and help them grow. Enough whining. It’s not fair, that’s true, but it’s not going to change as long as you are there at Abby’s. She hates Christi and she’s not going to stop taking her hatred of Christi out on Chloe, and yeah, that totally sucks and is messed up of Abby to do that- to make a child suffer to hurt her mother- but she does!! So go. I’m sure there are plenty of places who would LOVE to have Chloe as a student. Personally, I think she would make a lovely ballet dancer, but that’s something she needs to be training in as soon as possible. She is a very talented girl, as they all are in their own ways, but I strongly feel that Chloe is the most likely to actually becoming a professional working dancer when she grows up, if she sticks with it. Just my opinion of course..

    I also would not put it past Melissa to get knocked up again to try to keep that man or speed up the divorce or get money out of him. It seems like each time she remarries she pushes out a new batch of kids. She has two much older sons than Maddie and Mack right with her first husband right? Then divorced him and remarried Kurt and pushed out kids with him. Well time to repeat the cycle.

    I think Chloe is the best classical dancer. Maddie is the best performance dancer.

    @April– I don’t think Melissa is pregnant. Not that I don’t think she would do that to “hold onto her man” or whatever, but I think she is about 45 or 46 now and it probably isn’t too easy to get pregnant. She has made comments on it because people have wondered about it and she has said she is NOT pregnant and cannot get pregnant. She said that on twitter I believe. I don’t know if that means she had a problem after her last delivery, or has had to have a hysterectomy, or if she is, or has, gone through menopause (or maybe her boyfriend has had a vasectomy?), but she did make some comment about that not being possible. I think it’s the clothes she wears, and the way her body is shaped that makes her belly protude..

    The two older boys are not her kids. They were her step-kids– Kurt (Maddie and Mackenzie’s dad’s) kids from his first marriage. Melissa has also been married before Kurt, so she’s twice divorced now, but just to clarify that the two older boys are not her kids, but her step-kids (or ex-stepkids..I guess).

    I agree with you about Maddie and Chloe. Maddie is a good performance dancer; though she needs new material and new facial expressions, and Chloe is the best classical dancer, in my opinion.

    I’ve never heard of this National Competition! I know there are many different organizations, all with their own Nationals…. But never this one! Why didn’t Jabby take them to a “bigger” nationals? Unless I’m missing something?

    Melissa has been “looking Preggers” for longer then 9 months, so I dont think she is. Thank Goodness the Carpet muncher is gone!! She got her 15 minutes.
