I’m too sexy for my cat

Well, Gasmii, this was a disappointing episode as far as I am concerned. No Cathy and very little Mackenzie, but a whole lot of screeching and tears. Jill’s entitlement complex and delusions are spinning out of control. On a positive note, Christi had a few great lines.

Paige finally makes it to the top of the pyramid for her win in Texas and Maddie is on the bottom! Not last or anything, but still on the bottom. Jab says it’s because she could have been seriously injured in her fall and she should take it as a lesson to never change her mind in mid-air. I think that’s a lesson we can all embrace.

The girls go to Hollywood Vibe in Pittsburgh, which Jabby naturally declares a “must-win,” since it’s their hometown. They do a group number – sans Mackenzie – called Private Eyes and use fake guns as props. There are many gun metaphors about blowing away the competition and a half-hearted objection by Holly who say little girls and guns don’t mix. But the number turns out really well and they win – I guess it was their category? They come in second overall though.

Chloe got a gun

Maddie, Chloe and Paige do a trio, which really sets Jill off because Kendall was left out. She harangues Jabby endlessly. The trio ends up coming in second, which Jabby again calls “first loser on stage.”

Maddie and Chloe do solos, and Maddie comes in first overall, while Chloe comes in second overall.

Jill buys a park bench for the studio engraved with her name and Kendall’s name, which goes over about as well as you might expect. Jabby screams at the girls and the moms throughout the episode and I have a headache just from all the yelling. I fear that I am going to start having seizures whenever I hear Jill’s voice like that woman did with Mary Hart.

Next week: Jill’s antics have landed Kendall back on probation (LOL); Cathy’s back (yay!) and Holly says she has to leave because something “isn’t right.” (Knowing this show, it’s probably something completely innocuous that they are trying to make seem dramatic.)

    Have not watched it yet. Will have to wait until Sat. I personally don’t get why people freak out about the guns. Its a fricking prop! Big whoop! I like the whole idea for that dance. The dancing, props and costumes work very well together.

    Do you think Abby is losing interest in Maddie? Remember how Brooke used to be the #1 dancer for Abby and Brooke was her favorite? That is what Kelly said in an interview once. Then she moved to Maddie. I almost feel she is moving to Mackenzie now. Like after they get a certain age Abby doesn’t want them anymore?! I don’t know. I just get that sense. Which is really kinda sad for the girls because they will think it is something they did, when really it is not that at all. Maddie is more sensitive than Brooke and it will bother her MUCH more than it did her.

    Okay did you watch the little mini video about Christi and Kelly hiring a PI to look into Jill? Honestly I know it is set up for the show and what not, but come on! If I found out someone hired a PI to look into me over something like my kids activities I would be livid. I would be suing them for harassment over such a thing. That was pretty creepy with him having pics of Kendall in costumes to show them. Like where did he get those and ew….

    That just weirded me out. I don’t like Jill, but I feel that was a huge overstep on their part. Mostly because it involved Kendall too.

    Jill’s lip injections wouldn’t bother me so much if she got the collagen injected into the parts of the lip that are SUPPOSED to be plump, but she has plumped up the outsides and it just SCARES ME! It’s like getting breast implants on your back or something!

    Yeah, I’m guessing next week’s Holly freak-out is fairly benign, made to seem bigger for the preview, and I also bet that Jabby appearing to agree with her and standing up for Nia is mis-edited!

    There’s no way Cathy runs 306 apples thru that hole-in-the wall, either! Also, Jabs has more comp teams than just our featured crew.

    I’m beginning to think that Chloe must remind Jabs of a girl who picked on her fat ass as a kid or something because I just DON’T KNOW how she can look at Chloe and see cocky, but not see it on Bugs (Maddie)!

    Also, I love how Jabs yells at the girls when they don’t understand her direction…hmm… maybe if she could actually DANCE she could SHOW them what she wanted instead of trying to convey a physical nuance verbally. I can’t imagine having a dance teacher who didn’t demonstrate the steps. All my dance teachers were in their 40s and 50s and you could bounce a quarter off of them! In Jabby…well, you’d probably lose your quarter….

    yeah, this was a pretty lame episode. And I agree with Ash, there has to be a reason Jabby is so nasty to sweet Chloe.

    @April I think it’s more maddie has started to not live up to the hype Jabby thought she was deserving of. My daughter cheers with a kid that was treated similiar to the way Jabby treats Maddie. They acted like this kid walked on water because she progressed quickly in her tumbling. She developed a mental block because she moved to fast and all of a sudden she was no longer the favorite. It was kind of sad, and I can imagine confusing for the kid. One minute your tumbling is the best thing since sliced bread and the next your coaches are throwing you out of the gym.

    I enjoyed the episode for the train wreck that it is. There were a few good zingers, in my opinion. I thought the fuss over the guns was a bit much. I laughed my butt off at the online “Dear Abby, Ep. 7″ when Abby looked into the camera and said, “Can we please make time for me to go to Holly’s school so I can tell her what a bad principal she is?” LOL. Touché. Even though I do like Holly. I would have pulled the Latifah number before I whined about the bully role.

    I just saw an extended preview with Wife Swap for next week and it looks like Jill drags Kendall over to join the Candy Apple crew. Somebody mentioned in last week’s recap comments that Kendall was competing with them as late as last week. Poor kid. She seems so sweet. I just want her to tell her nutty mom off. I can’t imagine, why, if Cathy didn’t want crazy Leslie, she would take on Jill. Maybe she is hoping for massages and free furniture. Don’t the Candy Apple moms see how the kids are being used? Probably too busy with their Mob Wives makeup.

    Big deal losing kendel. I’m sure that will just allow Abby to reinforce her everyone is replaceable attitude. I was alittle confused about all the crying untill I saw on twitter that abby had actually told Chloe and Paige that she didnt need them in the trio she just needed Maddie in order to win. I know that maddies is a good dancer but I am really suprised she is abbys favorite I mean if your going on looks then its chloe or paige all the way I mean they have the long limbs and can do the tricks? plus I always enjoy watching them more, I think they are more eye catching.

    Not episode specific comment, but I can see how Maddie would be the favorite/always win. As lovely as Chloe dances when you look at the overall picture, her technique is sometimes awkward. In the proof dance there was a moment when she landed where she just landed oddly. Seeing it just yanked me out of the moment and I couldn’t enjoy it after that. Watching Maddie, her technique is nearly always elegant and effortless. I get lost watching her.

    That said, I think Mackenzie is a better, more natural dancer than Maddie and she’s quickly becoming my favorite! I can’t wait to see how she grows as a dancer.

    It is? I will go look. I don’t have cable or On Demand, I normally watch them at Lifetime.com or Hulu. Let me check and see if they put them up yet but they normally have not been putting them up till Sat. Thanks!
