I’m sure you’ve all seen that dumb commercial that asks, “Do you dream in chocolate?” Well, Gasmii, I dream in Jabby. I swear, I’ve had at least one dream a week about Dance Moms since I started recapping it. But that’s okay, I will take one for the team. Thankfully, this week’s episode was entertaining and not the unrelenting nightmare of last week. In fact, this week was actually kind of awesome. Lots of Mackenzie and Crazy Cathy and Jabby with a dog in a stroller!
As expected, Jabby put Kendall back on probation, causing Shrill’s head to rotate 360 degrees. She freaks out and pulls poor, sobbing Kendall out of the studio and forces her to be a Candy Apple, even though Kendall is 30 years younger than the rest of Cathy’s crew.
The girls will be going to Fire and Ice in Pittsburgh. Nia is on top of the pyramid and Jabby gives her a solo. However, this leads to her going head-to-head against Kendall who is also doing a solo for the Candy Apples. Kendall beats Nia, leading to the drama we saw last week of Holly walking out. She is upset that Nia was a “pawn” in the feud between Shrill/Cathy and Jabby.
The girls do a group dance dressed as brides, and Jabby wants the girls to invite their dads to “give them away to the world of dance.” They win overall, beating the Candy Apples who did a number about a funeral (which I’m sure was completely random and not prompted by producers in any way).
Speaking of brides! Apparently, Melissa is engaged, but won’t admit it to anyone. (She tells us in talking head, but says she wants to keep it quiet.) Chloe lets it slip in front of Jabby that there was a good story to the engagement, but neither Maddie nor Mackenzie will tell her. (We don’t actually find out either.) But it’s kind of funny that Jabby is so obsessed about finding out. In fact, Jabby seems like she’s in a better mood again this week and now suddenly has a dog that she pushes around in a stroller! That explains so much.
Jab and Cathy have a small showdown in the hallway of Fire and Ice and we get to see Cathy being nuts, which is always a treat. Also, Mackenzie is absolutely hilarious this episode.
So there you have it. I will have all the deets up in a couple of days, but if you need a quick fix, check out last week’s epi here. (However, you may want to pour yourself a big glass of whiskey first.)
Thanks for reading, and have a great day!
