DEXTER (Season 6)

Aaaaaand we have a name! Travis and EJO have become quite notorious, ever since hanging a waitress from a greenhouse ceiling like the strong, righteous men they are, and their efforts have earned them the handle “Doomsday Killer.” Of course, the fact that they are a duo (?) is still a secret, hence the singular.

While Deb and her underlings try to track down EJO, Dexter is all up in Travis’s business. After seeing him grinning his fool head off at the locust release party-slash-greenhouse hanging last week, Dexter has rightly assumed something is off about the boy.

Travis spends most of the episode trying and failing to be the bad boy, while Dexter gathers evidence against him, hangs out with Brother Sam, and hides in the backseats of cars. Meanwhile, Deb is bonding with Chicago Mike, Batista is cock-blocking Quinn, and Quinn is getting some of EJO’s sloppy seconds. Business as usual, right? Until the last few minutes of the episode, when the world turns on its end…

BlueCanary is as unorthodox a blend of optimistic and bitter, laid-back and anxious, motivated and straight up lazy tas one is likely to meet outside an unspecified institution. She spent the past decade holding a variety of job titles, including reporter, tech writer, production manager, and administrative assistant (the go-to job in this economy for folks who just HAD to get that English degree). She is currently living under the tiny yet powerful thumb of an awesome, pint-sized little dude, who wets himself and can't form full sentences (read: stay at home mom). Another tyrannical little thumb is gestating in her womb. She is a regular on The Neutral Corner podcast and blogs at www.mamamuzzle.com.

Blue's as-yet-unpublished YA novel, The Nature of Echoes, is currently a Quarterfinalist in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award contest. How does Deb always get the hottest guys on the show? I can see the googlie eyes already starting with Chicago Mike.

The way you know this is a great show is the compassion you end up feeling for serial killer Dexter. When he dropped all his blood samples I felt so awful then I thought about it and said he’s killed 40+ people. In no other situation would I feel bad for this person.

I also root for the women on Snapped but that’s a totally different feeling.
