Minicap: Dexter

Dexter in basement mini 12411

With EJO on ice and Travis fully embracing the batshit, Dexter is propelled straight from the church cellar and into the hunt. EJO’s ghost confronts Travis, telling him that he needs to face the facts: this whole Doomsday plot was his idea from the get-go. Instead of freaking out and doing whatever he can to redeem himself, as would be typical for the Travis side of his personality, he goes the other way, informing EJO’s ghost that he will finish their work.

The rest of the episode centers on Dexter disposing of EJO’s corpse, Travis recruiting new helpers, Deb and co. locating the church, Batista forgetting everything he learned at the police academy, Quinn drunk once again, Louis crying man-tears, Dead Harry quibbling, and the fate of Holly, the “whore” Nice Travis released–a move he’s decided was a mistake. Plus, Velveeta n’ crackers, y’all!

Also, we learn Travis has a history of mental illness and violent behavior. What a fuckin’ surprise! Join me later this week for the full recap!

BlueCanary is as unorthodox a blend of optimistic and bitter, laid-back and anxious, motivated and straight up lazy tas one is likely to meet outside an unspecified institution. She spent the past decade holding a variety of job titles, including reporter, tech writer, production manager, and administrative assistant (the go-to job in this economy for folks who just HAD to get that English degree). She is currently living under the tiny yet powerful thumb of an awesome, pint-sized little dude, who wets himself and can't form full sentences (read: stay at home mom). Another tyrannical little thumb is gestating in her womb. She is a regular on The Neutral Corner podcast and blogs at www.mamamuzzle.com.

Blue's as-yet-unpublished YA novel, The Nature of Echoes, is currently a Quarterfinalist in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award contest. I wonder if Dexter knows how many people he’s actually killed. He’s lost his slides twice.

So what kind of schedule do cops run? How can Quinn be late consistently and not get some sort of reprimand?
