What a sassy episode!
Well, my hat’s off to the Glee writers for winning back my interest in any of the characters. I actually care about Santana now.
Also, I think what Finn did in outing Santana in front of the whole school was really messed up. Some may say she deserved it because she is such a sassy bitch to everyone, but outing a person is totally different than calling them a whale or an ass-less J-Lo.
Hopefully others will join me in my campaign against Finn as a character. Santana’s jab about him having to stand behind Rachel the rest of his life was really on the nose and I thank the Glee writers for creating a strong female character who will stand up to this obnoxious weenie of a boy.
I know that the only reason the writers created The Troubletones was so that in episode 6 they could refer to the rift in groups as ‘World War Glee’, but I honestly hope they never reunite. The people in the New Directions are awful, and by people I mean Rachel, Finn and Quinn.
This is the episode where everybody stops putting up with other people’s shit. Shelby finally puts Quinn in her place and I couldn’t be happy. From the get-go, Quinn’s character has been a giant baby. I understand getting pregnant in high school is extremely difficult and it humbled her for like a minute, but post-baby she became even worse than she was as a Cheerio. I can’t help but think Quinn will be even more obnoxious in future episodes because of Shelby’s newfound balls.
The Sue vs. Burt campaign is getting dirtier as is the campaign for Senior class president, because the kids always have to copy what the adults are doing. One day, they will grow up and make decisions on their own, but until then, they follow Sue’s example.
Sue says Burt has a baboon heart, which I don’t even think is a possible transplant option, and Brittany says she will ban tornados. Way to play these characters to the height of their intelligence!
My favorite part of the episode was the sparse use of Mr. Shu.
Glee writers, you are on the right track. Don’t screw this up!
Here’s what you missed last time on Glee
If you like it, spread it!:

Best episode in a long time. But I’m not with you on the Finn hatred. Remember, these are supposed to be high school kids. Santana openly attacks him every way possible and leaves him no response, making him so angry that he goes to the one place he knows he can hurt her. I teach high school kids. I know that, when they’re hurt emotionally, they’ll lash out to feel better. This was spot on accurate.
And the Adele mash-up was amazing!
I’m a big fan of Naya Rivera’s voice. They have spent so much of the past seasons featuring the soprano singers. Finally, an alto gets a shot!
I have to disagree with you on this one, good lady. Not one of my favorite eps – probably because it was just downright mean. I don’t mind the Sue campaign slinging, because that’s just who Sue is. However, I’m tired of characters on this show getting a “pass” for bullying just because they are gay. Santana has always been a bit of a snarky biotch, but she really crossed the line here. And what’s her beef with Finn, really?
I love the mashups they do on this show, especially the Adele one this time.
i dont get glee’s inconsistency with making naya nice, then mean, then nice, then mean again.
but maybe they are trying to potray that when you are in the closet, you are angry at yourself??? which is a long bow to draw.
anyway, i like naya’s voice, her take on valerie is as good as amy winehouse’s version of the song by the zutons.
i like naya to do more songs, but im not a fan of mercedes, yeah she has a good voic no doubt but there is no emotion.
Mercedes is annOYing this season! “I’m the leader”. In her words Hell-to-the-no. That would not have went down in my h.s. without a riot if someone said that. And agreed about the free passes for the gays in this show. It’s getting ridiculous. Santana deserves it. If you sleep around in high school like they always used to say she used to & make fun of people, people won’t like you or have any respect for you. You’re seriously unhinged if you think people won’t exploit whatever dirty little secret you have to get back at you. What a joke. If she didn’t want people to out her then she shouldn’t have acted like she did. And I thought TV wanted us to think calling people fat was such a wretched & evil thing to do because anorexia & bulimia are a disease. Ugh & another thing-we had to go through 2 seasons of Kurt’s being gay drama now we have to do it all over again with Santana. Yeesh, enough with this woe is me stuff
They definitely made Santana unlikeable in this episode…I didn’t feel bad for at all. How can you when all she does is go around belittling everyone else?
Also, I really liked the Adele mash-up, and I’m usually a fan of Naya Rivera’s voice, but her singing Adele’s Someone Like You kind of fell flat for me. Adele’s voice is just so beautiful and haunting, there’s no way Naya Rivera could do it justice. Although, it was leaps and bounds better than Gwyneth Paltrow singing Adele last season!
Sorry but I think you have it wrong. Finn wasn’t outing Santana. Finn was saying what EVERYONE in the school already knew. And he only said it because it was the only chink in her armor. She repeatedly stabbed him where he was most vulnerable: feeling inadequate. All he did was reply in turn. The only reason that it got out beyond the school was because someone else was there and overheard it being said.
LOL! My captcha code it BTCH. Seems fitting for a post about Santana.
Alright alright, I see your point about Finn. I still don’t like him very much.
@nashuaf – I know he’s a high school kid and his shittyness is probably accurate, but it doesn’t make me like him any more.
I totally agree that they keep flip flopping on Santana’s character which makes people unsure of how to feel about her.
Regardless of how we all feel about these characters, I think we can all agree that high school sucks.
I am also pro-Finn. Outing someone is cruel, but I think she deserved exactly what she got. If you want people to be kind to you and respect your feelings, you have to do it first. If not, then you can’t complain when somebody you’ve been bullying fires back.
That being said, I still feel sorry for her.
