Minicap: Glee

glee xmasIt’s a Christmas filled with Glee, and confusion!

Welcome to the most bumbling, all-over-the-place Christmas special ever aired on network television. This special could have had so much potential, yet the execs allowed Matthew Morrison to direct and totally shot themselves in the foot. Mr. Shu can’t multitask; he has way too much gel to put in his hair.

The good news is, since Matthew directed, he wasn’t in the episode that much. Instead, it was like 40 Christmas specials smooshed into one big sloppy mess. It’s sad too, because after the intro song, All I Want for Christmas, I had such high hopes; hopes that were dashed by the suggestion of a Star Wars themed Christmas. The theme could have been way cooler than it was, Finn and Puck singing in crappy Star Wars costumes.

The important thing is that Christmas songs were sung and the gang got to go to the homeless shelter.

Here’s what you missed last time on Glee!

About

The nooch is 5 foot 3.  She hates sushi and once she watched a movie on Lifetime from start to finish without making a sarcastic comment.  Once.  That's all.

    A. Whoever allowed these people to butcher “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” AND sing it to a bunch of homeless people needs to be beaten.

B.I hate Rachel/Lea Michele more and more each episode. She’s such an freaking ham it’s not even funny.

I agree! That song is all about poor people and how much better it is to be us, because their life sucks. Totally inappropriate for the homeless shelter!

On the other hand, I LOVED Kurt and Blaine’s duet. The whole making fun old gimmicky X-mas specials was fantastic in the beginning. However, after their duet it went downhill for me…the joke just went on too long. And, since when is “My Favorite Things” a X-mas song?

Oh Paprika! I love you as we share the same contempt for Rachel.
And JerseyJ, My Favorite Things became a Christmas song since never. Glee has a way of tweaking reality to fit their musical needs.

What the fuck was that? Even that Star Wars special was better than this wet pile of dog poop. Good to know that no other religions/cultures matter anymore, as long as those idiots in Florida are happy, right?

Although I did appreciate the appearance of Itchy, the annoyingly cloying elf. And the ultra-short cheerleader costumes.

OK– having major capcode drama— am trying this for a third try
    Can Cawfee pull off a hat-trick ??
This was the most uncomfortable, cringe-worthy episode ever. I kept flipping around the TV–something I never do–but they are losing me bigtime. Miss Patti Lupone herself must be on this show STAT to bring my undivided attention back.
I loved the lack of Shu–thank you Santa–and the Roomies-winkwink- Kurt and Blaine. I am still confused with Rachel’s in-door white gloves but if I can punch her face, I will let it go.
I wish a mash-up of the other “All I Want for Christmas is You” along with Mariah Carey’s song. I think its the Verve-or VV something–it is awesome

I pretty much can’t stand any of the kids on this show anymore. Well, except Rory, who I wish they would give something to do. And Sam is OK. I miss Mr. Schue and Emma and I’d love to see more Bieste and Sue. Pretty much just take me back to the first 13 epis of Season 1.

No Shu? Hot dog, might have to watch this one!

Sounds like the choice of songs at the homeless shelter is basically the equivalent of singing “Short People” at the Little People of America National Convention. Sheesh!

While this episode pissed me off to no end for a variety of reasons, “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” is about feeding the hungry (the Ethiopian hungry, specifically) and spreading Christmas joy. It was totally appropriate.
