02.04 - 05 - ray's not comin' home

Last Night on Hawaii Five-0, a plane crash brings about another previous show reunion. Sadly, not a LOST reunion, but oh well. And guess what? The writers get a little cute with it!

Anyway, the episode starts off, as I said, with a plane crash. Inside the plane is an ICE agent, and according to Franklin, she was dead long before the plane crashed. Well, that’s weird. So McG and Danno meet up with the dead ICE agent’s boss, who begs to help out with the case. The first thing they do is look for her ‘red book,’ which is basically her professional journal, and that leads them to her house, where they find a dog. The dog becomes a bit more central to the episode than it should. Whaddaya know. They also find a camera, which was being used to take surveillance photos, and these photos lead them to a suspect, and that suspect is Uncle Fuckin’ Rico.

Uncle Rico points them out towards the shop where he buys his medical weed for the cancer, and gives them the few pages he tore out of the red book, which are pretty scorched from him trying to burn them. Fong is able to recover some text, which leads the crew to a poacher’s stash house, used to extract all sorts of illegal supplements and things. They follow this lead to Chinatown (there’s one in Hawaii, too?), and a black market shop. They arrive shortly after the good doctor has been kidnapped. Meanwhile, Jin and Taylor were out in the Hawaiian jungle trying to figure out where the guy that was flying the plane with the dead agent jumped out. They find a parachute, and Jin recognizes tire treads from an old motorcycle. The bike, plus the flying, plus the skydiving points pretty clearly to their suspect, and BOOM…busted. What? You thought I’d spoil the ending? Come back later in the week for the real deal.

In the meantime, if you haven’t caught last week’s recap, you can read it here. Please do, and leave me lots of wonderful comments.
