01.19 - 08 - mcg takedown

Last Night on Hawaii Five-0, there was skin! But no McRib! Still! But don’t let that dissuade you from reading my recap!!!

The episode kicks off at a photo shoot on the lovely Hawaiian beach, with lots of lovely models prancing in tiny bathing suits. The photo shoot takes 5, and the photographer heads back to his trailer. He hears a lock latch, and suddenly his trailer is on fire! He burns to death! Turns out that one of the models is about to marry him, and another one recently broke up with him, so there’s an almost catfight on the beach. Almost.

Boomer gets paired up with some tech who apparently knows her, but she doesn’t know him…so naturally they work the whole case together. Awkward! They drive around town collecting gasoline samples to compare with the gas that was used to burn the trailer.

Jin’s uncle goes to IA to tell them that he stole the money, not Jin. Jin doesn’t like that his uncle is coming clean, so he goes back before IA and tells them his uncle was lying…and when they tell him that they haven’t found any trace of him spending that money, he tells them he hasn’t spent it…so they call his bluff and ask him to produce the  $200k. Wuh-oh.

McG and Danno trace this guy who was mysteriously on set at the photo shoot, and he turns out to be big time bookie in Hawaii. Obviously since he’s associated with gambling, he’s bad news! However, he proves to be pretty helpful in solving the case…he’d apparently loaned just short of $300k to our dead guy, and explains that why would he kill the guy who owes him that kind of cash.

So, of course, the murder is wrapped up…as it always is…Boomer discovers why this guy knows her…and Jin hits up the loan shark for a cool $200k.

Oh, right. There was another amazing takedown.
